Henry took the coveted front spot on the opening lap and led all 20 laps. It was Henry’s second win of the year, making him the first repeat winner of the 2016 campaign. (June 22) – Sixty-seven of the best Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified drivers from 10 states converged on 141 Speedway for opening night of qualifying for the $10,000 to win Clash at the Creek main event. When passing points were figured after 16 heat races, 10 of those drivers … Benji LaCrosse, Mike Mullen, Kyle Brown, Jay Matthias, Hunter Marriott, Shawn Kilgore, Jordan Grabouski, Jeremy Jacobs, Todd Dart and Marcus Yarie … were locked into Thursday’s starting grid at Francis Creek. DODGE CITY, Kan. – Through the month of July and the first week of August, the IMCA RaceSaver United Rebel Sprint Series will compete for an estimated $100,000 in total purse money during a 13-race stretch that begins July 1 in Dodge City, Kan., and ends Aug 6 at the famed Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kan. This will be the largest combined payout for the “Month of Money” in the 11-year history of the URSS. This will also be the start of the 13-race URSS national championship battle, all of which pay a minimum $1,000 to win and $200 to start. By Dave Panske SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 19) – Charles Van Ooyen took the final checkers of the night Sunday at Seymour Raceway Park. Brandon Gagnon set the pace early for the Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars with Trent Nolan moving into the top spot on lap three. The pack stayed tight and Travis Springstroh moved up to challenge and took the lead on lap 10. Defending national champion Travis Van Straten, Van Ooyen, Bob Czarapata and Kyle Frederick were moving up through traffic. There were several cautions in the first half of the race but the final restart came on lap 15 and the last half of the race stayed green. Van Ooyen and Frederick challenged Springstroh after the restart and Van Ooyen made the move to the inside to take charge on lap 16. All 10 features are qualifying events for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and pay a minimum of $100 to start. Meyer, the IMCA Mach-1 Sport Compact national points leader, won for the second straight week at Norfolk but this win was even more special as the Pierce driver recorded his 100th career victory in the division. “I’ve been fighting for that for the last, I don’t know how many, races,” Meyer said. “To finally get that, hopefully we can get some momentum going now.” Starting on the inside of the third row, Meyer immediately squeezed through the midst of the four cars in front of him to get the lead early, then maintained it during two cautions for his fifth win in seven starts this season at Off Road. All feature races in the June 25-29 Interstate IMCA Modified Challenge Series and the July 1-4 Warriors Rendezvous in Montana series are qualifying events for the 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. By Kelly Ninas LEXINGTON, Neb. (June 19) – Earning trips to the winner’s circle Sunday at Lexington Raceway were Clay Money, Daniel Gottschalk, Mike Nichols and Jacob Olmstead. Leading the final two laps of the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature was money in the bank for Money. Colton Osborn ran a near-flawless race in leading the first 18 circuits, only to end up with runner-up accolades. Anthony Roth worked through traffic to finish third. Being at the point during the laps that matter the most was Gottschalk in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature. After leading much of the way, Cole Egge was second while third went to Trent Roth. Nichols picked up IMCA Sunoco Stock Car career win number 399 in dramatic fashion. The track was tacky and slick, depending on where you were on it,” said the five-year veteran. “I love coming here to Eagle, because of the competition. If you can win here, it’s a real accomplishment.” Gary Saathoff, Shelly Andersen and Arie Schouten were next across the stripe. Dustin Anderson drove to the Kaplan University IMCA Modified checkers. Tyler Drueke raced from 12th starting to first in the IMCA Racesaver EMI Sprint Car main event.
