Ferriera is first in RaceSaver feature at U.S. 36
By Jacob Blair OSBORN, Mo. (June 12) – A full night of competition greeted both competitors and fans Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway and a multi-groove race track provided for intense racing all night long. The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars again saw two distinct grooves from the drivers up front. Kenny Potter led early using the low line, while Jay Russell tried the high line. Further back, Monty Ferriera ran the low line, with Tyler Drueke on the top. Once the race found a rhythm, so did Ferriera as he worked his way to the lead. Ferriera went on to win the race, with Russell second, Drueke third and Potter in fourth. Alex Salzman finished in the fifth spot. Chad Clancy dominated the IMCA Modified feature in route to his first trip to Westfall GMC victory lane this season. Steve Starmer earned the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win and Truman Asher held off Steven Clancy and Chris Wright in a Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature that ended green, white, checkered.
