ALGONA, Iowa (July 9, 2026) — Mesa, Arizona native Chaz Baca Jr. charged from sixth to win the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature Thursday during the Bradie Becker Memorial at Kossuth County Speedway.

Colby Fett led the opening six laps before the Jewell driver took command on lap seven. Baca steadily pulled away from the field for his 12th IMCA Modified victory of the season, ninth in the Razor Chassis North Central Region and second at Kossuth County Speedway in 2026.

Matt Looft finished second, followed by Nick Meyer, Jeremy Mills, and Fett.

Shryock Rallies Late for Stock Car Win

Mike Albertsen grabbed the early lead in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature and built a comfortable advantage before a lap-12 caution erased his lead.

Kelly Shryock used the restart to his advantage, reeling in Albertsen before completing the winning pass with four laps remaining. The Fertile driver drove away for his fourth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season, with two of those wins coming at Kossuth County Speedway.

Kevin Opheim turned in his best run of the season at the track to finish second. Albertsen settled for third, Troy Swearingen was fourth, and Karter Evans completed the top five.

Shryock advanced seven positions from his starting spot to earn hard charger honors.

Fett Charges Through Field in SportMods

The Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature featured multiple lead changes before Alec Fett emerged as the winner.

Slade Fitzgerald led the opening lap before Chris Nielsen took over on lap two. Jacob Tacheny moved to the front on lap three and remained there until a caution on lap seven. Mike Smith inherited the lead on the restart before Fett methodically worked his way forward from ninth.

Fett completed the winning pass with six laps remaining and stayed in front the rest of the way to earn his third victory of the season and second at Kossuth County Speedway.

Tacheny won a close battle for second over Charlie Stevens. Josh Appel finished fourth and Tad Reutzel rounded out the top five.

Fett’s drive from ninth to victory earned hard charger honors.

Nielsen Navigates Cautions for Hobby Stock Victory

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature was slowed by six caution flags over the 15-lap distance.

Pole sitter Micah Lavrenz led the opening lap before James Burns took over on lap three. Burns remained out front for four laps until Brandon Nielsen grabbed the lead.

Despite four additional cautions, Nielsen stayed in control to score his fifth B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season and second at Kossuth County Speedway.

Corbin White finished second, Burns was third, Steve Wickman placed fourth and Doug Wickman charged from 19th to complete the top five while earning hard charger honors.
