Eric Pollard shot to the high side of the speedway from his front row start and sailed to the win. Hometown favorite Curt Martin tried to reel in the quick running Pollard but was unable to mount a serious challenge in settling for second. Twelfth starting Kolin Hibdon scored the win in the IMCA Modified feature. The 16-year-old from Nevada used every line on the track in making his way to the front. Hibdon overtook race leader Ronn Lauritzen near the midway point of the main and raced under the checkers ahead of Lauritzen and Jeff Aikey.  The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event treated fans with a fierce battle for the lead which featured a pack of five drivers. Lincoln County goes Red, White, Boom!

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (July 4) – Getting the chance to shine in front of an Independence Day crowd, four IMCA drivers punched their tickets to the winner’s circle at the Red, White and Boom Night of racing action at Lincoln County Raceway Saturday evening.  In the most exciting feature of the evening, Bob Chalupa was the early leader in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event. Chalupa relinquished the lead to fourth row starter Mikey Dancer on the sixth lap.  Dancer had to work through traffic to gain the lead and checked out once he got there. Colton Osborn encountered heavier traffic coming from his fifth row starting spot and ran out of real estate making a move for the lead as the checkered flag waved. Osborn’s efforts were rewarded with the IMCA Modified feature victory. Osborn started on the pole and never looked back as he built cushions between himself and the field following each restart.  Troy Bayne piloted his Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod to victory after starting on the outside [Read More]

Czarapatas collect trophies at Outagamie

By Edward Anschutz  SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 3) – Team Czarapata took two IMCA feature wins Friday at Outagamie Speedway. Mike Mullen raced to the lead on the second lap of the IMCA Modified feature and quickly pulled away from the field. Several cautions slowed his charge as Jason Czarapata and Brian Mullen gave chase. Cautions kept the pace slowed with the time limit ticking away. Mike Mullen once again pulled away on the restart but mechanical gremlins got the best of the no. 99 machine as his car came to a halt in turn two. Czarapata inherited the lead as the time limit expired on the race, handing him the win. Brian Mullen was second and Benji LaCrosse raced from row eight to place third. Rod Snellenberger took the lead on the seventh lap of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature only to have it swiped away a lap later by Brandon Czarapata. Czarapata was able to hold off a hard charging Jeremy Christians to score his first win of the season. Danley dominates Bud Shootout IMCA RaceSaver Sprints

By Jacob Blair OSBORN, Mo. (July 3) – It took three tries, but the Bud Shootout at US 36 Raceway proved worth the wait. The Sprint Series of Nebraska portion of the Bud Shootout witnessed a dominating performance from second place starter Joey Danley. Danley led the entire 25-lap feature in comfortable fashion on his way to the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car win.  Tyler Drueke moved up from fifth to finish second, while Stuart Snyder drove up from ninth to finish third. The hard charger of the race was Monty Ferriera, as he finished fourth after starting 15th. Kenny Potter completed the top five. The IMCA Modified feature became a tale of two halves of the race. Half number one went to Brandon Williams as he looked to have the car to beat. While leading comfortably, however, a lapped car made contact with Williams, forcing him pitside and ending his night. Steven Bowers Jr. inherited the lead, after moving up from an eighth place starting position and dominated the remaining half of the feature.  The [Read More]

Twenty drivers took the green flag and veteran Steve Johnson ran out front until Jeff Larson was able to wrestle the lead away.  Front row starter Denny Eckrich ran in the lead pack the entire race, found the perfectly prepared track to his liking and made a late-race charge to take the lead from Larson as the laps wound down. Another driver on a late race charge was Derrick Stewart. When the checkers flew it was Eckrich taking the win with a slight margin over Stewart and Larson. Becker starts holiday weekend with Sprint win at Dodge City

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. (July 2) – The Independence Weekend got off to an early start at Dodge City Raceway Park with Brett Becker picking up the $1,000 winner’s share in the Mel Hambelton Ford Racing POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series vs. DCRP Sprint Car Clash. Becker gridded the feature outside the front row but it was 16-year-old pole starter Kyler Johnson gunning into the initial lead of the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car main event. Fourth starting Jake Bubak handled Becker on lap two to move into the runner-up spot.  By lap five Becker found the bottom to his liking, moving back by Bubak and taking the lead one lap later from Johnson.   Working through traffic much of the way, Becker fought off a bid from Bubak at the midway point and then had Johnson on his tailtank again after a Bubak miscue on the 16th lap. Becker found open track with five laps to go when the race’s only caution flew after Taylor Velasquez got into the outside wall.  Becker took off on [Read More]

Dillon Tindall started last in the field of 25 and finished sixth.  “We’ve raced that place (Heart O’ Texas) maybe a dozen times before.
