Dubuque Fair Week Specials Put IMCA Modifieds in Fast Shafts Spotlight

DUBUQUE, Iowa (July 10, 2026) — Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway will feature a pair of IMCA specials during Dubuque County Fair week, with Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds taking center stage in Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifiers on Wednesday, July 29, and Sunday, Aug. 2.

The Wednesday, July 29 program features Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds racing for $2,000 to win. Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks will also be in action, competing for a $1,000 top prize.

The Modified entry fee is $50, while the Hobby Stock entry fee is $25. Both divisions will compete under a draw/redraw format. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m., with racing to follow.

The Sunday, Aug. 2 Julien Dubuque Classic Races will feature a full IMCA program during the Dubuque County Fair. Sunoco IMCA Late Models race for $1,200 to win, Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds for $1,000, Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods for $600, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars for $500, and Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks for $450.

All classes on Sunday will compete under a draw/redraw format, with hot laps beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Both Modified features are Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifiers, with each winner earning eligibility to try and qualify for the 2026 Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational, held during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.

Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing National points will be awarded at both events. The Sunday Julien Dubuque Classic Races will also award track and Iowa State points. Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds will compete for Razor Chassis North Central Region points, Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks for B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region points, and Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars for EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region points.
