IMCA STARS Mod Lites will crown national rookie of year

VINTON, Iowa (May 17, 2022) – The IMCA STARS Mod Lites will name their first national rookie of the year in 2022. Twenty-six track and series champions, along with a dozen state champions, were crowned in 2021, the division’s first of IMCA sanctioning. Rookie point standings, now posted on the IMCA website, will be based on drivers’ best 25 finishes out of their first 50 starts. Bonus points awarded for a track or series championship will be added to that point total at the end of the season. Drivers cannot have made more than 10 sanctioned starts in their career in the division to be rookie eligible. Four winners in Central California Clash, Damon Murty earn B & B All-Star eligibility

VINTON, Iowa (May 17, 2022) – Another five IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers have earned B & B Racing Chassis All-Star qualifying eligibility, four of them doing so with Central California Clash victories.  Brock Hamilton, Larry Thompson, Garrett Corn and Troy Foulger all collected qualifying checkers over the course of the May 2-7 tour. Damon Murty became eligible with his win during the May 7 Drive For 5 show at Lee County Speedway. Drivers already eligible winning recent qualifying features paying $750 or more were Todd Gereau, Chanse Hollatz, Jeffrey Larson, Dallon Murty, Bo Partain and Paul Stone. Another nine IMCA Modified drivers new to Fast Shafts All-Star eligibility

VINTON, Iowa (May 17, 2022) – For a second straight month, the number of drivers earning Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility has increased by nine. Eddie Sites was the winner on opening night for the Close Racing Supply IMCA Modified Series presented by Precision Hydraulic & Oil at Skyline Raceway Motorsports Park and Troy Foulger topped the second IMCA Central California Clash event at Tulare. Austen Becerra was best in the Drive For Five lidlifter at Lee County Speedway while Nick O’Neil prevailed at Cocopah’s Mike Corning Memorial. Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers winning $1,000 or more at weekly shows were Nick Trenchard, Matthew Hicks, Benji LaCrosse, Mitchell Hunt and Konnor Wilinski. Veteran drivers find victory lane on opening night at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 14, 2022) – Veteran drivers found their way to victory lane for the 42nd consecutive opener at the Arlington Raceway Saturday night. 2020 national champion Cory Probst had a great birthday present as he drew the pole for the start in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby feature. Chad Volk moved forward from his seventh place start to challenge Probst but settled for second. Jordan Robinson from Marshall won the Hess Technology best appearing car award in the division.  Four-time national champion Nate Coopman started in the number one spot for the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature but the 23 cars behind him also wanted that top spot and some got a bit clustered as the race went on.  A yellow flag came out on the sixth lap. A night of firsts on memorable night at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (May 15, 2022) – Milestone wins were the theme Sunday night at Benton County Speedway as multiple drivers earned career firsts on the quarter-mile Bullring. The charge of first-time winners was led by 2021 IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock national champion Kaden Reynolds who motored to the first win of his career in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Vermedahl Logistics. The first-year Stock Car driver started inside row three and quickly sliced through traffic to assume the early lead. Dallon Murty, who started alongside Reynolds, chased the division rookie to the front of the pack. Reynolds built a two-second lead by the time Murty made his run to second and extended his advantage throughout to score the convincing win. Murty ran second ahead of Leah Wroten and Norman Chesmore. Bradly Graham was among five competitors battling for the early lead in the 15-lap main event for the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Gary Lamphere tops podium at The Hill

By Chrystal Wyant MONROETON, Pa. (May 13, 2022) – Gary Lamphere pedaled to the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified checkers on opening night Friday at The Hill Speedway. Lamphere led the entire race to finish in first place. Jake Maynard was in second until lap six, when Keith Lamphere took over. Eddie Sites moved into the runner-up spot on lap 13 but Keith Lamphere raced his way back to second two laps later. Maynard ended in third. A bike raffle/give away for the kids was held during intermission. The bikes were donated by Rocky’s Bicycle Shop in Monroe.

Indiana RaceSaver Sprint Series streak to three as Paynter prevails at Gas City

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (May 16, 2022) – John Paynter Jr. started the 2022 season with a goal of winning as many races as possible.  Through three Schaeffer’s Oil Indiana RaceSaver Sprint Series starts, he’s done just that. The Bloomington, Ind., pilot followed opening night checkers on April 23 at Lincoln Park Speedway with wins May 1 at Circle City Raceway and May 13 at Gas City Speedway. “Lincoln Park is more high-banked but they’re all quarter-mile bullrings, like most of the tracks in Indiana,” Paynter said. “We just want to go out and win as many races as possible. Wauters wins again on last lap at Indee

By Jeremy Fox  INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (May 14, 2022) – Saturday was Night Two of the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing Season at Independence Motor Speedway and it was absolute beautiful night for racing on the 3/8 mile banked oval on the Buchanan County Fairgrounds. One hundred and three race cars signed in and the night wrapped up at 9:45 p.m.   The first feature of the night was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car 20-lapper. Cole Mather took the lead on lap two just before the first of four cautions over the next three laps. Mather held tough on the restarts and fended off Kaden Reynolds before pulling away. Mather went on to go back-to-back to start the season and take his 29th weekly win at Indee. Reynolds finished second and Dustin Vis came back from an early incident to finish third. Crystal mourns loss of Brandon Bogart

(May 14, 2022) – Crystal Motor Speedway canceled events scheduled for Saturday night due to wet conditions and the threat of rain.   Racing aside, the track would like to take a moment to recognize our loss.  Early in the afternoon of May 11, Crystal Motor Speedway and Montcalm County lost an employee, a faithful friend, family member, and a wonderful human being. Brandon Bogart had worked at the track since he was 12 and was a fireman for Crystal Township, Home Township and the Stanton Community fire departments. He had been fighting cancer for over a year at Metro Hospital and finally laid down his fireman’s coat and went ‘home.’ Brandon fought the disease with courage and humor. Ron Flinn, CMS owner and promoter said, “Brandon was a great person who always went above and beyond to help people at the track and in the community for a lot of years.
