Dallon Murty brings home bacon with Whole Hog 50 IMCA Stock Car win at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (May 31) – Dallon Murty brought home the bacon Monday night, with the $5,000 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win at Stuart Speedway’s inaugural Whole Hog 50. The big win carried with it an automatic starting spot in the B & B Chassis All-Star race at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s and came ahead of Johnathon Logue and 10th starting Kelly Shryock.  Sunday qualifying winners Murty and Luke Lemmens led the field to green for their 50-lap main event, with Murty and Lemmens running 1-2 over the first 14 laps.  A caution bunched the field and Logue took advantage to jump into second as Murty continued to lead. Lap 16 saw Jeff Mueller and Chanse Hollatz having a tangle in turn three that led to a light rollover by Todd Reitzler. Reitzler was OK but his night was over. Gould, local veterans are big winners in All Star Shootout finale at Heart O’ Texas

WACO, Texas (May 30) – William Gould and organizations assisting veterans in the Waco area were big winners on the night before Memorial Day at Heart O’ Texas Speedway. Gould raced from 12th to win the All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts IMCA Modified main event, earning $1,000, plus $500 bonuses for his second All Star win of the week and $250 for perfect attendance throughout the five-race Shootout.  And local veterans’ groups will be getting $2,660, the amount raised in the evening’s Modified drivers’ auction. Gould gaveled at $400 and, appreciating the buyer’s confidence, told him to keep what would have been his share, half those proceeds.  Interviewed post-race on IMCA.TV, the buyer announced his plans to donate the full amount to local organizations dedicated to assisting veterans. All Star Shootout IMCA Modified win is career first for Wojtek at Kennedale

KENNEDALE, Texas (May 29) – The hugs and high fives that followed Fred Wojtek’s All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts feature win stemmed from his third place finish in his qualifying heat Saturday at Kennedale Speedway Park. Wojtek caught William Gould for the lead 11 laps into the IMCA Modified main event, then outran Gould and Jacob Pirkle to the $1,000 checkers. “We weren’t too good in the heat. We changed a spring and ball joint and good gosh, the car was like a different car (in the feature). It handled really well after we made all the changes,” Wojtek said following his first win of the season, and first-ever win at KSP. Gould gets All Star Shootout win at Boyd in IMCA Modified he built, sold

BOYD, Texas (May 28) – The IMCA Modified William Gould sold five years ago put him back in the winner’s circle again Friday night at Boyd Raceway. Gould raced from the 10th starting spot to the lead midway through the All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts headliner, then held off a pair of hard chargers in Jacob Pirkle and Jon White to the $1,000 checkers. “I like a fast track with more than one line and I like a short track,” Gould said. “This track was everything I like. Southern Oklahoma beats weather, gets in fast night two of IMCA All Star Shootout

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 27) – A fast-paced All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts program at Southern Oklahoma Speedway ended with Matt Guillaume, Matthew Day and Jeffrey Abbey in victory lane. Hustling to beat bad weather, Guillaume was promoted to the $1,000 IMCA Modified checkers after Wesley Veal came up light on the post-race scales. Day was lights out for the second night in a row at Ardmore in winning the Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMod feature and Abbey held Wednesday winner Tommy Fain in check to top the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event. Taylor quick to accomplish at Ardmore, tops All Star Shootout opener for IMCA Modifieds

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 26) – When he pulled out of the driveway, Jeff Taylor headed for Southern Okla­homa Speedway hoping he could “accomplish something” during the five-race All Star Shootout fueled by Fast Shafts. He accomplished a lot on opening night at Ardmore, racing from 16th starting to win the IMCA Modified feature and $1,000. One hundred and twenty-five cars, including 57 Modifieds, 38 Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods and 30 IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, saw action in the Wednesday show.  “I knew I had a pretty good car by lap four or five,” said Taylor, who’d made the starting grid by winning his ‘B’ feature. “It was a lot of fun. All Star Shootout stays at Southern Oklahoma for Night 2

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 27) – After hosting opening night for the All Star Shootout, Southern Oklahoma Speedway will host night two, too. Grayson County Speedway was scheduled as site of the Thursday show but rain was the early winner at Bells.  IMCA Modifieds, Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are back on the track at Ardmore tonight. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m.  The All Star Shootout is broadcast by IMCA.TV.

IMCA Dakota Classic Tour point funds total $10,000

MANDAN, N.D. – Point funds totaling $10,000 will be paid to IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers in top 10 point standings for the upcoming Corral Sales IMCA Dakota Classic Tour. Courtesy of Hoosier Tire and IMCA, point fund amounts increase from $2,000 to $6,500 for the Modifieds and from $1,000 to $3,500 for the Stock Cars. The Modified champion earns $1,600, with $1,150 for second, $850 for third, $700 for fourth, $550 for fifth, $450 for sixth and $300 for seventh through 10th places. The Stock Car champion gets a $850 share of the point fund, with $625 for second, $475 for third, $400 for fourth, $325 for fifth, $225 for sixth and $150 for seventh through 10th. All Modified features pay $2,000 to win and are qualifying events for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. New NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series opens with May 30 Sean Lias Memorial at Penn Can

SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. – The inaugural Sean Lias Memorial kicks off the new NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series this Sunday, May 30 at Penn Can Speedway. IMCA Modifieds race for $1,037 to win their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying feature, with $137 paid to start the 37-lap main event. Nearly 30 drivers from New York, Pennsylvania and Michigan have pre-registered to be part of the new series.  Lap money now totaling $1,850 will be paid as well on Sunday. BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – IMCA Modifieds race for $5,000 on Sunday, night two of the Nationals at Bakersfield Speedway.  One of the top-paying events of the season in California sees Modifieds run for $1,200 to win, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods for $1,000 to win and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $500 to win on opening night Saturday, May 29. Along with the big Modified payday on Sunday, SportMods race for $1,000 to win and Stock Cars for $750 to win on May 30. Both Modified features are Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events while the winner of Sunday’s Stock Car feature joins the list of B & B Chassis All-Star qualifiers.
