MAVTV Super Nationals highlights air April 22, 29

BOONE, Iowa – IMCA fans and drivers alike will enjoy highlights from the largest event in all of dirt track racing, from the comfort of their favorite recliner in the living room or the race car shop Thursdays April 22 and 29. MAVTV broadcasts both evenings feature Modified action from the 38th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Voiced by Ralph Sheheen and Jerry Vansickel, each hour-long show begins at 7 p.m. EST with footage from IMCA.TV shot during the week at Boone Speedway. MAVTV air dates for Thursday Night Speed Sport segments focused on Super Nationals Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods are to be announced.

Sproul capitalizes, collects $1,000 checkers in headliner at IMCA Havoc on the Hi-Plains

COLBY, Kan. (April 8-9) – Another Thomas County Speedway special ended with Dakota Sproul in victory lane. Sproul paced the Jeff Hartwell Memorial last August en route to earning IMCA Modified national and Jet Racing Central Region rookie of the year honors. He was the winner at Colby again Saturday night, scoring the night two $1,000 Havoc on the Hi-Plains checkers after leader Clay Sellers got caught up with a lapped car near midway. Sproul had started fifth. “We had been fast on opening night and went from ninth to third. The car was really good all weekend,” he said. “The track was pretty good around the bottom. I stayed there and was able to hold my own. It was a good race.” Kyle Rohleder and Tanner Black were next across the stripe. Rogers is first from Kansas to get 100th IMCA Stock Car win

SELDEN, Kan. – They broke out the congratulatory banner and the bubbly Friday for Jason Rogers. Rogers won his 100th career IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature on April 9, opening night of the Havoc on the Hi-Plains at Thomas County Speedway. The Selden, Kan., driver started that race 12th and beat rookie Tathan Burkhart to the checkers by not much more than the width of his bumper. “I had a fast car. I knew the cautions needed to fall and they did,” said Rogers. “This was a big weight off my shoulders. Getting my 100th win was a goal of mine, especially after last year. If it could break last year, it broke.” After winning just twice in all of 2020, Rogers won his first two starts of 2021 to reach the 100 career mark. Battle Mountain doubleheader next for IMCA Wild West Tour

BATTLE MOUNTAIN, Nev. – After making a first-ever trip to Arizona for its season-opening doubleheader, the IMCA Pitt Stop Motorsports Wild West Tour travels to a more familiar racing locale this weekend. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods are on Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17 cards at Nevada’s Battle Mountain Raceway. Modifieds race for $1,000 to win Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying features both nights. Stock Cars and Northern SportMods both race for $750 to win, with top money in the Stock Car features upped to $1,000 with 30 or more entries. Racing starts at 6 p.m. and both programs will be broadcast by IMCA.TV. In addition to special series points, IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded. Al Miller Memorial this weekend at Merced

MERCED, Calif. – The newest addition to the 2021 schedule at Merced Speedway is also one of the biggest. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods race for $5,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start at the fourth annual Al Miller Memorial, set for Saturday, April 17. IMCA Modifieds are on the same card, running for $2,000 to win, $100 to start and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $1,200 to win and $75 to start. Shelby County reschedules Swanson Memorial

HARLAN, Iowa – After more than a little rain fell in Harlan and much of the surrounding area, Shelby County Speedway will reschedule its inaugural Dale Swanson Memorial. What was to have been the season-opening special on Saturday night, April 10 will now be held Saturday, June 26. More information about that evening’s race program is to be announced.

King of the Highbanks rained out

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Rain and the resulting wet track conditions are officially winners of The King of the Highbanks special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Marshalltown Speedway. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and IMCA STARS Mod Lites join the Stocks on the April 16 card at Marshalltown. Driver Appreciation Night has been moved to April 23.

Diamond Park sets specials for IMCA STARS Mod Lites

NASHVILLE, Ark. – Taking home the win means taking home $1,000 at three special events this season for IMCA STARS Mod Lites at Diamond Park Speedway. Saturday races April 10, May 29 and Aug. 7 are all part of a five-date Challenge Series at the Nashville, Ark., oval and each pays $100 to start with IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and KMJ Performance State points to be awarded. Gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 6 p.m., the draw closes at 6:45 p.m., hot laps are at 7 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. each night.
