IMCA Modifieds return to Fayette County Speedway for Rage Chassis 40

WEST UNION, Iowa – IMCA Modifieds are all the rage again at Fayette County Speedway on July 21. Next Wednesday’s Rage Chassis 40 main event is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier and pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded at the draw/redraw show, to be held on the second night of the county fair and in West Union, the home town of Rage Chassis.  “I work closely with the fair board and this is something we’ve wanted to do for a number of years. Obviously, it didn’t work out last year,” said Rage owner Justin O’Brien, “but we’d like to see this become an annual event.”  The 40-lap distance allows the feature to be “more of a showcase deal,” he added, as fans get to see the Modifieds on the track in an event longer than those run by weekly classes. O’Brien’s shop is on Highway 150 a block [Read More]

Troy confided, “Eric passed away from cancer too young in life and I was thinking I wanted to do something to memorialize him because he did a lot for racing and a lot for my racing career.”  Eric had won the 2000 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car championship at Luxemburg Speedway and Troy reached out to the Kewaunee County Racing Association (KCRA) which is promoting races at the rebranded ‘Burg Speedway.  The group agreed it would be a fitting tribute to put a memorial race on the schedule. With that, the groundwork was laid for one of the biggest nights in Northeastern Wisconsin racing in [Read More]
