IMCA STARS drivers racing for Texas-sized payout at inaugural Texas Mod Lite Nationals

WACO, Texas (July 7, 2022) – Heart O’ Texas Speedway rolls out the red carpet for an IMCA STARS Mod Lite special so big it could only be held in the Lone Star State. 

The winner of the inaugural Oct. 13-15 Kick-N-Back Refrigeration Texas Mod Lite Nationals earns a $10,000 share of the $33,650 main event purse that weekend at Waco. 

Runner-up pay is $5,000, with $2,000 for third and $1,500 for fourth. A minimum of $1,000 will be paid to finish in the top 10 and a minimum of $500 paid to start the 24-car feature field. 

Two long haul awards of $150 will be paid. Hard charger awards are $100 for the feature and $50 for non-qualifiers. The Joe Butler Jr. Invitational pays $500 to win, $200 for second and $100 for third through eighth place.

Entry fee is $200 for drivers registering by Sept. 5 at heartotexasspeedway.com or $300 after that date.

Pit gates open at 6 p.m. and an open practice runs from 7-10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13. Gates open at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. each of the next two nights, with eight drivers locked in on Friday and 16 advancing from last-chance qualifiers on Saturday.

Top non-qualifier on Friday receives a wrap from X-treme Graphics. Other contingency sponsors include Fisher Motorsports and East Texas Awning.

IMCA Stock Cars chase $5,000 at July 2, 3 Heart O’ Texas Baby Blue Harcrow Memorial

Abbey hoists Harcrow hardware at HO’T

WACO, Texas (July 2, 2022) – What turned out to be a pretty good holiday weekend for Jeffrey Abbey started at Heart O’ Texas Speedway’s Baby Blue Harcrow Memorial. Abbey led start to finish in Saturday’s 25-lap IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event and went home with a $5,000 share of the purse, plus a $2,500 share of the drivers’ auction and lap money. “I ran Heart O’ Texas pretty regularly and won a lot of races in classes I’ve raced in there over the years,” Abbey said following his eighth checkers of 2022. “I just protected the bottom and did everything I could to hold Jason (Batt) and Dustin (Mooney) off.”  Abbey had won both his heat races and the qualifying feature on Friday night, then lined up outside Mooney on the front row in Saturday’s big show.  He stayed in front through multiple restarts with the last yellow flying with four laps left. Leonard conquers Fall Classic IMCA Modifieds for career-best payday

WACO, Texas (Oct. 25) – The higher line took Cody Leonard to the IMCA Modified checkers and a career-best payday Sunday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway. Leonard raced from seventh in topping the Fall Classic field, earning $3,500 and a spot on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.  “It feels great. I kind of grew up watching the guys I’m racing with,” he said. “Racing with them is pretty cool. I was that little kid hoping to get to their level one day and here I am.”  Josh McGaha, Craig Oakes, defending race winner P.J. Egbert and Caleb Stone completed the top five.  Leonard had battled Jeff Emerson for the fifth spot before a late caution.
