Thursday Dale DeFrance Memorial to feature four IMCA divisions

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 5, 2022) – Four IMCA divisions are on the Thursday night card for the fifth annual Dale DeFrance Memorial at Marshalltown Speedway.

Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win and $200 to start along with Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility on July 7 while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $750 to win and $155 to start, plus B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility.

Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods run for $600 to win and $150 to start, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $400 to win and $95 to start. 

Feature winners receive certificates from Performance Bodies and a case of oil. Hard luck drivers get certificates for drive shafts courtesy of Fast Shafts.

Drivers in all divisions will receive an extra envelope with cash and/or certificates and also be entered in a random draw for a complete race wrap from Capitol Signs. 

Approximately $15,000 in cash will be added to the purse and winner’s shares may be increased.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded.

Pit gates open at 5:15 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:55 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. 

The Dale DeFrance Memorial, postponed from May 5 because of inclement weather, is presented by Fast Shafts and Tire Demon.

Gray, Kuehl get Marshalltown wins

By Joyce Eisele  MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 11) – Racing action continued at the Marshalltown Speedway on Friday night where it was Casey’s Salute to Marshalltown Firefighters, EMTs and First Responders/Chad Witte VIP Night. The IMCA STARS Mod Lites kicked off the feature racing with their 15-lap main event. Austin Gray led this one from start to finish to capture his first-ever win at the High Banks. Mike Kennedy chased Gray for the majority of the race but had to be content with a second place finish. Ben George was third, Kaden Cochrun took fourth and rounding out the top five was Rodney Brown. The Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature went to summer visitor Taylor Kuehl, who hails from Cave Creek, Ariz. The 20-year-old young lady started on the outside front row, and immediately grabbed the top spot. Eighth place starter Brayton Carter wasted no time moving into the runner up spot on lap three. Dallon Murty earns first career IMCA Stock Car win

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 5) – Friday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at Marshalltown Speed­way was one for the record books as 14-year-old Dallon Murty, son of the “Chelsea Charger” Damon Murty, led all 18 laps to score his first career win in the division. Murty set his ride to the top of the track much like his dad, and finished well ahead of second place Steve Meyer. Shawn Ritter finished in third place, Todd Reitzler was fourth, and Dave Atcher completed the top five. Todd Cooney had to fend off Jeremiah Hurst most of the 20-lap IMCA Late Model feature in order to capture his second feature of the season. Cooney came from eighth starting spot to take the win.  Hurst, who started ninth, finished as the runner-up.  Leah Wroten paid her second visit to victory lane in winning the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main event. IMCA STARS Mod Lites have May 27-29 Cornbelt Clash dates

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (May 23, 2022) – IMCA STARS Mod Lites race for $500 to win each night of their Cornbelt Clash tripleheader over the Memorial Weekend. Features Friday, May 27 at Marshalltown Speedway, Saturday, May 28 at Boone Speedway and Sunday, May 29 at Stuart Speedway all pay a minimum of $100 to start. Yoshimura bonuses of $250, $150 and $100 will be paid to top three eligible finishers on Sunday; hard chargers each night also receive a certificate for a STARS plated tire from Hooser. Entry fee is $30 and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, KMJ Performance State and track points will be awarded each night. Pit gates open at 5:15 p.m. and racing is at 7:30 p.m. at Marshalltown.
