Lone Star IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Tour travels to six tracks in Texas, Oklahoma

ABILENE, Texas – The fourth annual Sniper Speed Lone Star Tour for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars travels to six tracks in Texas and Oklahoma, with a $5,000 check waiting for the champion.  Both IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win at Abilene Speedway on Saturday, Feb. 20, the second show of the Ice Breaker weekend; Sunday, Feb. 21 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco; Monday, Feb. 22 at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige; Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Grayson County Speedway in Bells; Friday, Feb. 26 at Kennedale Speedway Park; and Saturday, Feb. 27 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore.  Stock Car feature winners are eligible for a $500 loyalty bonus from IMCA; all Modified features are qualifying events for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.  Tuesday is an off day following cancellation of the event scheduled at Boyd and the Grayson County race moves to Wednesday. Leonard conquers Fall Classic IMCA Modifieds for career-best payday

WACO, Texas (Oct. 25) – The higher line took Cody Leonard to the IMCA Modified checkers and a career-best payday Sunday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway. Leonard raced from seventh in topping the Fall Classic field, earning $3,500 and a spot on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.  “It feels great. I kind of grew up watching the guys I’m racing with,” he said. “Racing with them is pretty cool. I was that little kid hoping to get to their level one day and here I am.”  Josh McGaha, Craig Oakes, defending race winner P.J. Egbert and Caleb Stone completed the top five.  Leonard had battled Jeff Emerson for the fifth spot before a late caution. WACO, Texas – Both a check for $3,500 and a spot on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot go to the IMCA Modi­fied feature winner at Heart O’ Texas Speedway’s Fall Clas­sic special Oct. 22-24.  The runner-up earns $2,000 with $1,000 for third. Satur­day’s main event pays a minimum of $300 to start. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Prod­ucts Southern SportMods both race for $1,500 to win, $750 for second, $500 for third and a minimum of $100 to start.  Tow money is $100 for the Modifieds and $50 for both Stock Cars and SportMods. Red River repeat as Wojtek tops IMCA Modifieds at Waco

WACO, Texas (July 3) – Same story, different track.  For the second time in as many nights, Fred Wojtek started on the pole and led all 25 laps in winning a Red River South Tour feature for IMCA Modifieds, earning $1,000 for his Friday green to checkered run at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.  “It’s crazy that I drew the one again,” said Wojtek, the Thursday winner at Grayson County Speedway. “I didn’t believe I could do that.” After nearly getting collected by a lapped car halfway through, Wojtek stuck to the bottom line and held off a late challenge from Cody Leonard, then focused on hitting his marks the last two times around the track.  Leonard, Josh McGaha, Ken Schrader and Larry Adams completed the top five. IMCA Modifieds race for $1K at Red River Tour shows

ARDMORE, Okla. – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berths each night of the Lone Star Super Gas Red River Tour South presented by Smiley’s Racing Products. Opening night for the third annual tour is Wednesday, July 1 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway, with events to follow July 2 at Grayson County Speedway, July 3 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway, July 4 at Kennedale Speedway Park and July 5 at Boyd Raceway.  Ken Schrader will follow the tour, which has no entry fee any night. Mufflers are required at KSP and at Boyd.  The July 3 Baby Blue Harcrow Memorial for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Heart O’ Texas pays $1,500 to win and $100 to start. Stocks also race opening night at Ardmore and at Kennedale.  Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods join all five programs.

IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars featured Friday at Heart O’ Texas

WACO, Texas – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars join the Friday lineup, racing for $750 to win and $100 to start on opening night of Heart O’ Texas Speedway’s Quarantine Weekend.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Texas State points will be awarded to the winged warriors as well on May 29, as they join IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods for the draw/redraw show at Waco.  Gates open at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $35. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and military, $5 for students ages 6-12 and free for ages five and under. Drivers will be allowed up to six people in their pit area and social distancing guidelines will be followed on both sides of the track. Face masks are recommended and hand sanitizer stations will be located around the facility.

Dialed in, Egbert drives to Jack Bagby Memorial win

WACO, Texas (March 6) – Quick to get a new car dialed in, P.J. Egbert was quick to get to the checkers and $1,000 IMCA Modified payday Friday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway’s Jack Bagby Memorial.  Egbert led all 20 laps, moving from the top of the track to the lower line and holding off David Goode Jr. the last five times around the oval.  “Luck was on our side, getting to start on the front row,” said Egbert, wheeling a 2020 Lethal Chassis at the 23rd annual special. “We can’t complain at all. It was good to get another win here.” Egbert had banked $5,000 and put his name of the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot when he won the Fall Classic in his most recent HO’T start last fall.  Several early cautions slowed the main event, which ended with a long green flag run. Green saddles up for night two Lone Star Tour victory

WACO, Texas (Feb. 16) – Night two of the Sniper Speed Lone Star Tour saw Derek Green make a second stop in victory lane.  Green led the last 10 laps of Sunday’s IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at Heart O’ Texas Speedway, earning $1,000. He’d started the 30-lap main event from 11th after winning his ‘B’ race and had taken over the front spot just before a turn three incident that eliminated challengers Dean Cornelius and Angel Munoz. Jeffrey Abbey raced from 19th starting to second, Abe Huls from 14th to third and Westin Abbey from 17th to fourth.  “This definitely feels good,” said Green, winner of the Friday Ice Breaker and runner-up in the Saturday tour opener at Abilene Speedway. “I came down here with zero dollars and a credit card. WACO, Texas (Oct. 21) – IMCA Modifieds chase a top check of $5,000 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway’s Oct. 24-26 Fall Classic. Saturday’s Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier pays a minimum of $300 to start. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods both race for $1,500 to win and $125 to start. Tow money is $100 for the Modifieds and $60 for both the Stocks and SportMods. Entry fees are $150 for Modifieds and $60 for Stock Cars and SportMods. Pit passes are $20 while grandstand admission for Thursday’s open practice is free. Friday pit passes are $30. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $10 for seniors, students and military. On Saturday, pit passes are $35 and spectator admission is $15 for adults and $12 for seniors, students and military. Kids ages 6-12 are $5 and five and under get in free both nights. Red River Tour checkers fly for Davis at Heart O’ Texas

By Jackson Braun  WACO, Texas (May 26) – A late-race pass by Cory Davis of teammate Chris Elliott ex­tended the streak of new winners on the Lone Star Super Gas IMCA Red River Modified Tour presented by Smiley’s Racing Products Sunday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.  Elliott got the lead on the initial start, with Cody Tidwell and then Chris Morris running in second.  With five laps remaining in the 25-lap contest, Morris took his shot in turn four. He made contact with the inside of Elliott’s machine and spun himself out, ending a strong run. After a few restarts, Elliott shot back out to the lead, with Davis in pursuit.  The final restart occurred with three laps to go.
