California rookie Dotson delivers with flag to flag run to Harris Clash checkers

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (Aug. 4) – The first thing Ethan Dotson did when he pulled into victory lane at Hamilton County Speedway Tuesday night was call his folks back home in Bakersfield, Calif. When he got out of his Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified, the 16-year-old rookie shared more details about his flag-to-flag run at the front of the Harris Clash field. “It’s always been a dream to run the Clash. Mayden’s the Man at Cottage Grove

By Ben Deatherage COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (Aug. 1) – Career win number one in the class came Saturday at Cottage Grove Speedway for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified hotshoe Jake Mayden. Kinzer Cox was the early pace setter and remained in the lead until lap five, when Mayden joined him up front and the pair battled side-by-side. Cox regained the lead on lap eight only to have it taken away on the following circuit by Mayden. Mayden lost the lead on lap 14 to Cox but got back around him on lap 15. Mayden stayed in the lead the rest of the way. Cox was second while Mark Carrell took third.

IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win Thursday at McLean County

UNDERWOOD, N.D. – McLean County Speedway brings Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds to Underwood Thursday night, Aug. 6, for a $1,000 to win main event. The 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier pays a minimum of $200 to start; the purse is based on 20 entries. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Belleville Motorsports North Central Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded. Passing points earned in heats will determine starting positions in the feature. The $50 entry fee includes the driver’s pit pass. Gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 6 p.m., hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Spectator admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 4-14 and free for three and under. Abelson joins IMCA Modified 100 career win club

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Aug. 2) – One down, two to go. Chris Abelson checked off the first task on his 2015 to-do list Sunday night at Raceway Park, winning his 100th career Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature. IMCA Modifieds take top billing at Williston’s Can-Am Shootout

WILLISTON, N.D. – Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds race for $1,200 to win both nights of Williston Basin Speedway’s Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7-8 Can-Am Shootout. Rose tunes up for big shows with IMCA Modified win at Britt

By Greg Grabianowski BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 1) – Rob Rose tuned up for the upcoming specials at Hancock County Speedway by winning the Saturday feature for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds. Rose made his way to the front of the 19-car field from outside row two. Runner-up was Ben Kraus and 12th starting Hunter Marriott was third. Calvin Lange earned his second local IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victory of the summer, followed by Kevin Opheim and Ned Kalis. Hancock County win number five this season came for George Nordman in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods. Nick Meyer was second and Nate Whitehurst finished third. Cody Nielsen topped the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main in front of Cory Gansen and Chanse Hollatz. Winner of the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature was Jesse Lunsford in his first trip to Britt.

Austin Luellen picks up SportMod win number one

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (Aug. 2) – Austin Luellen got the best of brother Clint in winning Sunday’s Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature at Stuart Speedway. Austin took charge early while Clint advanced to second, then looked high and low but unsuccessfully for a way around. Jeff James overcame contact with the wall, regained the lead from Nick Roberts and won the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified feature. Todd Cooney took the lead on lap nine in the IMCA Late Model main and won in front of ninth starting John Emerson. Sixth starting Brian Blessington put the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature away after taking the lead on lap three. Shannon Anderson took the front spot back from Buck Schafroth in winning the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main. Top honors in the Mach-1 Sport Compact feature went to Jacob Reiter.

Ward wins again at Tri-City

AUBURN, Mich. (July 31) – A.J. Ward notched another Main Street Seed and Supply IMCA Modified feature win Friday at Tri-City Motor Speedway. Former Dixie Modified champion Matt Szecsodi led the opening circuits of the 20-lap main event before rookie Gavin Hunyady took the front spot away and led until lap nine. Ward raced from 11th starting and led the final half of the race to cruise to another victory. Johnny DeYoung was second and Chad Wernette took third.

Saunders scores at Oshkosh

By Dave Panske OSHKOSH, Wis. (July 31) – Brock Saunders parlayed a restart with five laps left to win Friday’s Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature at Oshkosh SpeedZone Raceway. Jason Vandenberg was in front when the only caution of the night came out. The field ran three- and four-wide into the first turn and Saunders emerged from the scrum with the lead. Jon Schultz outran Jeff Schmuhl for second. Eric Scribner won for the first time at Oshkosh, getting the best of Jerry Wilinski in a back-and-forth Automotive Supply Company IMCA Modified main event that went down to the final circuit. Following a late caution and five-lap sprint to the finish, Travis Van Straten won his third straight and seventh local Total Power Sales IMCA Stock Car feature of the season by holding off Joe White. Drivers inducted into the Oshkosh Walk of Fame during intermission ceremonies were Ron Van Roy, Mike Pahlow and Charlie Ewald.

Jim Marsh Classic IMCA Modified features pay $1,000 to win

TONOPAH, Nev. – Both Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified features at Tonopah Speedway’s Jim Marsh Classic will pay $1,000 to win.
