Opening night is Friday at Clay County Fair Speedway

SPENCER, Iowa – A full season of IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing begins at the Clay County Fair Speedway this Friday, May 8. Divisions featured this season are IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Hot laps begin at 6:30 p.m. with races at 7 p.m. “This is a tremendous opportunity to fully utilize the Speedway,” said CCF Manager Jeremy Parsons. “Going from five races in 2014 to 14 races this year will be a great benefit to not only the speedway, but also to all of Spencer. Mother’s Day Race for the Cure Saturday at Canyon

By Lonnie Wheatley PEORIA, Ariz. – The action continues to heat up at Canyon Speedway Park with a full slate of action on tap with this Saturday night’s fifth annual Mother’s Day Race for the Cure atop the 1/3-mile clay oval. The May 9 card that gets under way at 7 p.m. features the 9th World Vapor IMCA Modifieds along with Arizona Differential Pure Stocks, Scottsdale Muffler & Automotive Renegades, Mini Stocks, Dwarf Cars and Lady Stocks. Dolan dominates at Dawson County

(May 3) – Gibbon hotshoe Chad Dolan wasted no time in getting to the front and running away with the victory in Sunday’s Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature at Dawson County Raceway. Dolan led every lap and had big leads that were extinguished by yellow flags that allowed runner-up finisher Josh Leonard to threaten Dolan on late re-starts until the race reached the time limit. Mike Densberger led start to finish in the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified headliner. Colton Osborn raced from deep in the pack to second. Another epic duel unfolded in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event as Mike Nichols caught and then held off Casey Woken in the race to the checkers. Kyle Bond took over the front spot before midway in the 15-lapper for IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Second went to Caleb Hetrick.

Vogt gains Chowchilla point lead with third victory

(May 3) – Defending champion Josh Vogt led all 20 laps of the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified main event for his third straight victory Sunday at Chowchilla Speedway. The win will move him into the point lead. Troy Foulger passed early second place runner Kyle Wilson on a lap 12 restart, only to lose power three laps later. Wilson held second until a last-lap pass gained Bill Egleston the runner-up finish. Wilson settled for third. Point leader Fred Ryland charged to the lead at the start of the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature and proceeded to lead all 20 laps for his third local win of the season. Keith Brown Jr. was pressuring Ryland before breaking and spinning on lap nine. That gave Ryland’s wife Patti second, where she would finish. Joshua Gish was third.

Woods returns to Abilene for Sprint Series of Texas feature win

ABILENE, Texas (May 2) – Dustin Woods earned his Sprint Series of Texas career first feature at Abilene Speedway last May. He earned his second when the tour for IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Cars returned Saturday night. Benefitting from changing track conditions and Reagan Reed’s ailing motor late in the contest, Woods finally gained the lead on the last of 20 laps. He’d fallen back a couple spots after starting ninth, then steadily advanced into contention. Two restarts during the last five laps preceded his move to the outside around Reed. “I was able to work the bottom of the track to my favor,” said Woods. “I was looking forward to racing with Reagan for the win but she had motor problems.” Kenny Elwood, Danny Merrell and Rodney Henderson were second through fourth, respectively. Hand is first on CGS Fan Appreciation Night

(May 2) – Braedon Hand was first to the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified finish in front of a full grandstand for Cottage Grove Speedway’s Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday. Different drivers led each of the first three laps as Ryan Baker, Briley Pompe and then Hand took turns at the point. Hand tried to distance himself from the rest of the field but lapped traffic came into play and allowed challengers to close in. One of those challengers was Jesse Williamson but he ran out of laps and had to settle for second. Curtis Towns, Mark Wauge and Steven Sturdevant completed the top five.

Bowers holds on for big win at Thunder Hill

MAYETTA, Kan. (May 2) – Opening night at Thunder Hill Speedway saw a BSB Manufacturing IMCA Modified driver return to find glory at a track he learned how to race on. Steven Bowers Jr. started his career in the street stock class at Thunder Hill but spent the last few years away from Mayetta chasing the outlaw tracks. He is returning to race full-time in 2015 and got the season started on a good note. Bowers quickly worked his way to the front with former national champion Jordan Grabouski close behind. The two hit lapped traffic before a late-race yellow set up a dash to the finish. The front two headed into the final turn with a vengeance. Grabouski made a dive from the top of the turn to the bottom hoping to use the momentum to his advantage coming out of four. Integra boosts IMCA program with awards for Hobby Stocks

COOPERSVILLE, Mich. – Hobby Stock awards are the latest addition to Integra Racing Shocks’ contingency award program with IMCA. Top eligible drivers in both Hobby Stock regions receive product certificates valued at $350, $250 and $150 in 2015. The Coopersville, Mich., manufacturer and sixth-year sponsor gives certificates in the same increments in each of the five IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified regions and both IMCA Sunoco Stock Car regions, and based on national Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMod standings. Integra has also renewed a one-of-a-kind program that bases awards on combined national Late Model and Deery Brothers Summer Series points. CRYSTAL, Mich. (May 2) – Thirty-five Allstar Performance IMCA Modifieds saw action Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway and the fastest of them was driven by Chad Wernette. Wernette outdueled Myron DeYoung in front of a full grandstand. John DeYoung Jr. wasn’t far back in third, followed by Brody Bowser and A.J. Ward.

Seymour win is Wedelstadt’s IMCA 110th

By Dave Panske SEYMOUR, Wis. (May 3) – Mike Wedelstadt pulled away from the pack en route to Budweiser IMCA Modified career win number 110 Sunday at Seymour Speedway. Jerry Wilinski had taken charge and set the pace for the first six laps before Wedelstadt powered by on the outside. A pair of cautions on lap eight bunched the field but Wedelstadt stayed in control and pulled away from the second place battle to collect his first feature win of the season. Wilinski, Jamie Schmidt, Mark Joski and Chad Bartel ran together in a tight battle for the runner-up spot, which Joski was able to secure at the finish. Mike Schmidt ran the inside line to perfection and collected his first career Seymour Coors Light IMCA Stock Car win. Rod Snellenberger made a hard run over the final two laps for second. Lucas Lamberies also made the most of the inside groove and won the O’Reilly Auto Parts IMCA Northern SportMod headliner. Second was J.J. Anderson.
