Jacobs, Stolp, Bethke, Beattie victorious at 141

By Greg Aregoni FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (July 2) – Four IMCA drivers picked up their first 141 Speedway wins of the season Saturday evening. Jeremy Jacobs has been hooked up in his Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified racer the last few weeks.  Top five finishes have been easy as pie to the former champion.  A win had eluded him until Saturday night. Brandon Long ran up front for the first five laps. Jacobs tried multiple lines around the speedway until he figured it out down low. Jacobs passed Long and was never to be touched again. Long prevailed in a late-race battle over Troy Jerovetz to finish second.  Eric Scribner finished fourth while R.M. VanPay rounded out the top five. Aaron Stolp has won numerous grand national features in his career. In 2016, he moved up into the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars.  He can now say he is a feature winner in the top fendered class. Jerry Leary led until the first caution flew on lap eight. Stolp restarted fifth and rocketed to the runner-up [Read More]

Droste scores Tri-Track win at Dubuque

By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa (July 3) – Sunday night’s racing action at Dubuque Speedway was highlighted by the running of the Ideal Ready Mix Tri-Track Challenge featuring the Out-Pace Racing Products IMCA Late Model 50-lap special event. When the checkered flag waved it was Tyler Droste from Waterloo topping a very exciting race. Droste made the bottom line of the 3/8 mile clay track come in as he was able to get by Dan Shelliam, who was riding the high side. The track was wide and fast on Sunday night as both the bottom and top were very fast making for plenty of wheel to wheel racing. Droste used both lines to make passes but was really good on the bottom in scoring an impressive win. Shelliam ran second and the next three positions were not decided until a late race caution set up a five-lap dash to the finish. Jeremiah Hurst crossed the line third ahead of Curt Martin and Joel Callahan. The Merfeld Brothers IMCA Modified feature win went to the “Good [Read More]

VINTON, Iowa (July 3) – Richie Gustin didn’t recall a lot of drama while en route to winning the Hogan Memorial in 2012.
