SUTTON, Neb. – Friesen Performance will power the sophomore seasons of three of IMCA’s 2017 national rookies of the year.
The top first-year Modified driver receives a 604 crate engine while top Northern SportMod and Hobby Stock rookies both receive 602 crate engines from the Sutton, Neb., dealership.
Rookie drivers in all three divisions must display two Friesen Performance decals on their race car to be eligible. Engine awards will be presented during the IMCA national banquet in November.

Friesen also gives a 602 crate to a Hobby Stock or Northern SportMod driver experiencing engine failure during the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
Friesen sells and ships GM crate engines to IMCA customers across the country and is an authorized crate engine repair facility for IMCA. In addition to selling and servicing new and pre-owned vehicles, the four-year IMCA sponsor has one of the largest parts departments in the nation, specializing in power train, discontinued parts and all Chevrolet Performance parts.
“Tyler Frye, Luke Johnson and Tim Church capitalized on their rookie seasons last year and each went home with a Friesen crate engine as a result,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “Three new drivers will achieve their ultimate goal this year and Al and the team at Friesen will be at the national banquet to congratulate them with a brand new engine once again. It is a truly great program and one that makes our rookie battles very intriguing in 2017.”
