Winnemucca pays $1,000 to Sunday High Desert Classic Shootout IMCA Modified winner 

WINNEMUCCA, Nev. – On opening weekend of a season dedicated to building IMCA Modified car counts, Winnemucca Regional Raceway will pay $1,000 to the winner of the Sunday, April 9 High Desert Classic Shootout main event.

IMCA Modifieds race for $500 to win in the Saturday, April 8 lidlifter at Winnemucca. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded and both shows will be draw/redraw.

Sunday’s feature is a 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event. Title sponsor of the High Desert Classic Shootout is Model T Hotel and Casino.

Pit gates open at 10 a.m. and the grandstand opens at 11 a.m. both days. Hot laps are at 11:30 a.m. with racing at noon.

Eleven dates for the sanctioned Modified division are scheduled this season at Winnemucca, with points races April 23, May 7, June 3,4 10 and 25, July 21, Aug. 18 and Sept. 15.
