Tire Demon inks IMCA awards pact through 2019

KELLEY, Iowa – Drivers in four IMCA divisions earn a wealth of awards from Tire Demon by Love Tap in the 2018 and 2019 seasons. The Kelley, Iowa, manufacturer gives $500 certificates at 30 designated specials for IMCA Modifieds and at 15 designated specials for both IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and for Karl Chevrolet Northern and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods each year. Certificates are good toward the purchase of a tire prep stand and will be mailed after official race results are received at the IMCA home office. URSS heads to Dodge City for 305 Nationals this weekend

DODGE CITY, Kan. – One of the highlights on the 2018 United Rebel Sprint Series takes place this coming Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16 as the Rebels head to Dodge City Raceway Park for the second annual Lubbock Wrecker Service 305 Sprint Car Nationals.” The tour will be joined by the track’s Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars for two nights of fast-paced sprint car action. Friday night’s feature payout will be at least $500 for the winner and $125 to start the finale. All non-qualifiers earn $100. Saturday night’s feature finale winner will earn a cool $3,000 and could earn up to $4,500 with lap money in play as well. Tough Clough tops Dawson County Modifieds

Clough started on the outside of the front row and wasted no time in rolling to a big lead and convincing victory. Coming from the rear of the field was runner-up Cale Osborn while Jay Steffens took third. Mike Nichols was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car winner, Luke Wassom topped the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Jacob Olmstead collected the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod checkers.

Herrick hoists Lincoln County trophy

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 9) – Veteran wheelman Bryan Herrick of Curtis piloted his IMCA Modified to the Saturday night feature win at Lincoln County Raceway. Herrick started on the outside of the front row, took the lead on the first lap and never looked back. Putting the pressure on Herrick for much of the feature was eventual runner-up Brandon Clough. Jamey Kennicutt was the winner of the Karl Chevrolet Northern Sport Modified feature as he held off all challengers during the waning laps after his big cushion was extinguished by late cautions. For the second week in a row, Casey Woken scored the victory in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Jacob Hagan rocketed to the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock victory and Daryl Cauffman powered his way to the Mach-1 Sport win.

(June 9) – After 10 years and much success racing an IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Tiffany Bittner is competing in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division for a second season and starting to find similar success. Last year Bittner won one feature while finishing with “a ton of top five finishes” in a division she describes as “a very popular class right now … I feel like everybody is moving up to the Stock Cars.” On Saturday night at Off Road Speedway, Bittner won her first feature of the young 2018 season. Yarie, Raddant return to Shawano winner’s circle

(June 9) – Marcus Yarie and Kyle Raddant made return trips to the winner’s circle at Shawano Speedway following IMCA Modified and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main events, respectively. Chucky Forstner and Jerry Muenster battled for the lead on the opening lap of the Modified main. Forstner held the lead until lap 10 when rookie Brekken Kleinschmidt took to the outside of the track and grabbed the front spot. Yarie followed Kleinschmidt around Forstner into second, then powered his way past Kleinschmidt for the lead on the following lap. Wyatt Block soon passed Kleinschmidt to grab second. In the end it was Yarie for the win, chased by Block, Kleinschmidt, Lance Arneson, and Jerry Wilinski. Miller’s dominance continues at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 8) – Curtis Miller won his fourth Mach-1 Sport Compact outing in as many outings Friday at Stuart Speedway. Hunter Patrick led Miller and Dean Richards in the early going with Miller taking the lead on lap four. Ryan Brown went for a wild tumble in turn two, landing just outside of the concrete barriers. Brown was OK but his night was over. Once the cars came back alive it was Miller cruising to the win with Richards second, Patrick third, Eric Alexander fourth and Zak Sickles fifth. Up to Challenge, Berry wins Ironman at Dacotah

MANDAN, N.D. (June 8) – Tom Berry Jr.’s first win in three career IMCA Modified visits to Mandan was good for $800 at Dacotah Speedway’s 40/40 Ironman Challenge Friday night. Pole sitter Darrell Parsons, Travis Ulmer and Tim Perkins went three-wide into the first set of turns. Ulmer shuffled into the lead as John Corell passed Parsons for third. An early caution allowed Berry to slip by Corell and Parsons before another yellow regrouped the field. On the restart, Ulmer, Perkins and Berry went three wide for the lead. Contact among the leaders bumped Perkins out of the top five as Berry grabbed the front spot. As the laps wound down, Ulmer lost positions to Corell, Shawn Strand and Jeremy Keller.
