URSS heads to Dodge City for 305 Nationals this weekend

DODGE CITY, Kan.  – One of the highlights on the 2018 United Rebel Sprint Series takes place this coming Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16 as the Rebels head to Dodge City Raceway Park for the second annual Lubbock Wrecker Service 305 Sprint Car Nationals.”

The tour will be joined by the track’s Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars for two nights of fast-paced sprint car action.

Friday night’s feature payout will be at least $500 for the winner and $125 to start the finale. All non-qualifiers earn $100. Saturday night’s feature finale winner will earn a cool $3,000 and could earn up to $4,500 with lap money in play as well. Starting the twenty-four-car championship fea­ture finale will take home $600 while all non-qualifiers earn $150.

Friday action will get underway at 8 p.m. while championship Saturday night will see heat races begin at 7:30 p.m.

Thanks to Mother Nature’s fury, only two events have been held thus far for the URSS. Jake Mar­tens holds a 10-point lead over Taylor Velasquez. Tyler Knight currently sits third in series points (-12) while Koby Walters, Steven Richardson and defending tour champion Zach Blurton are tied for fourth, sixteen-points out.

Rebels are bound for Belleville

BELLEVILLE, Kan. – United Rebel Sprint Series regulars and a host of IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car competitors hit the Belleville High Banks on Tuesday, July 3 for a $1,000 to win main event. Defending champion Zach Blurton currently leads the Rebels point standings over Brian Herbert coming into a big week of racing as they will compete Tuesday in Belleville and Saturday night head to Nebraska as the Rebels will hit Lincoln County Raceway in North Platte for the $1,500 to win third annual Ron Williams/Dick (Snoose) Myers Memorial. United Rebel Sprint Series partners with Drive to Zero program

OBERLIN, Kan. – The United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing has partnered with the Kansas Department of Transportation’s highway safety program “Drive to Zero” as the title sponsor for the 2021 season. The season is set to kick off on April 17 at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan. The Kansas-based series will now be referred to as the Drive to Zero United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambleton Racing.   The Drive to Zero program originated with a purpose to reduce fatalities and serious injuries that occur on Kansas highways. The program is designated to target impaired driving, texting, and seat belt violations. Snyder claims URSS victory at US 36

OSBORN, Mo. (July 23) – The sizzling summer heat was in full force on Friday at US 36 Raceway for the Drive to Zero United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing. Thirteen cars were in attendance for the second-ever United Rebel Sprint Series appearance at the 3/8-mile and it was Nebraska’s Stuart Snyder taking the top prize with a last-lap pass.  The 20-lap IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature event saw Jay Russell and Snyder with front row starting positions. Russell took off with the early lead out of turns one and two, but Snyder challenged back by diamonding the apex in three and four. The red would fly over the field for Kevin Dye flipping in turn three over the cushion.  A complete restart again had Russell prevailing with the race lead, while Snyder bounced violently through turn one.
