United Rebel Sprint Series hosts Missouri doubleheader

OSBORN, Mo. – The POWRi Drive to Zero United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing has two Missouri events on the schedule Friday, July 23 and Saturday, July 24.  Both races will pay $1,000 to win with $200 to start the “A” features.

On Friday, July 23, competition will take place atop the 3/8-mile high banked resurfaced facility of US 36 Raceway in Osborn. The enhancements on the track have given fans and drivers excitement, with close, action-packed racing. Hot laps are slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. with racing at 8 p.m. 

The United Rebel Sprint Series last visited US 36 Raceway in June for its first appearance in URSS history. Kansas native Jay Russell, walked away with the victory but it wasn’t without a fierce battle from Stu Snyder, Kenny Potter, Mike Houseman, Jr. and Ty Williams. 

On Saturday, July 24, drivers and their teams will head 45 minutes northwest to the 3/8-mile semi-banked facility of Bethany Speedway for the second night of competition of the weekend.  

The debut of the United Rebel Sprint Series at Bethany that also took place in June was a heated battle between Lincoln, Neb.’s Stu Snyder and Ty Williams. Snyder went on to claim the win.  

The Drive to Zero program was designed with one goal in mind – to reduce fatalities and serious injuries that occur on Kansas highways – targeting child passenger safety, impaired driving, texting, and seat belt violations.

Two nights of racing this weekend at U.S. 36 Raceway

OSBORN, Mo. – Two big nights of racing are set for this weekend at U.S. 36 Raceway. This Friday, July 3, is the Budweiser Shootout. After two postponements, U.S. 36 has remained persistent in completing the Bud Shootout. The Sprint Series of Nebraska is once again prepared to make its first appearance of the season at U.S. 36 that evening. As part of the event, heat race bonuses are on the line for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars. Winners will receive a $75 bonus. Second in the heats earn a $50 bonus with third picking up a $25 bonus. To complete the show, the IMCA Modifieds and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods will also battle it out on the high banks. Misfit Challenge features this weekend at US 36, Eagle

By Rick Staley OSBORN, Mo. – US 36 Speedway at Osborn, Mo., and Eagle, Neb., Raceway are paying $700 to win and $350 to start their respective Friday, Aug. 3 and Saturday, Aug. 4 Misfit Challenge main events. The winner of the two-track point bonus will earn $300 cash, enjoy a sit-down meal with Thomas Weeks of the Discovery Channel’s Misfit Garage during the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Nationals weekend and compete with a free wrap Sprint Nationals weekend with the Discovery Channel Misfit Garage Design. As an added bonus, all IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car drivers racing at US 36 Raceway receive free Admission/pit pass. Charles is in charge at Bethany

BETHANY, Mo. (July 25) – Austin Charles quickly went from fourth to first Saturday night and led every lap on his way to his first Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod win at Bethany Speedway this season. Luke Stallbaumer started eighth on his way to a second place finish and Tim Eaton finished third.  In the IMCA Modified division there’s always passing going on. Steven Bower Jr. shared the national points lead going into the weekend and quickly drove through the field at Bethany. A caution-free race made it hard for anyone to recover from a mistake as Bowers went on to win after starting 10th. Shayne Bailey was second from 11th. Jayden Bears ran a great race, finishing third.  In the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Blake Peeler put himself to the head of the class early while Carson Masoner stayed with him lap after lap.
