URSS starts season Saturday at Dodge City

DODGE CITY, Kan. – Last week’s originally scheduled season opener at 81 Speedway for the Drive to Zero POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing was postponed due to inclement weather. As a result, the season is now slated to kick off this Saturday, April 24 at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kan. 

The 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval opens this year under new management. Long-time Sprint Car driver Craig Dollansky and his team have devoted hours of time and enhancements to the facility leading up to the season. A great field of cars is expected as drivers and teams look forward to racing under the new improvements and promoter. 

Hot laps are scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday with the green flag flying over competition at 7 p.m. Grandstand admission is $10 with kids 12 and under admitted free of charge. 

The United Rebel Sprint Series will also award last year’s competitors with their respective trophies during or after the competition Saturday night.   

The series has partnered with the Drive to Zero program to offer a $5,000 pay day to the 2021 United Rebel Sprint Series champion. The Drive to Zero program was built with one goal in mind, to reduce fatalities and serious injuries that occur on Kansas highways. The program is designated to target child passenger safety, impaired driving, texting, and seat belt violations.

Velasquez rebounds for Dodge City RaceSaver Sprint win

(May 26) – Just one weekend removed from a wild heat race flip, Taylor Velasquez bounced right back to win Saturday’s 25-lap United Rebel Sprint Series vs. Precise Racing Products Sprint Car Clash main event at Dodge City Raceway Park. Velasquez put his IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car out front at the outset from the pole position and capitalized on a lap 20 caution that negated a Jake Martens pass for the lead to secure the win. URSS heads to Dodge City for 305 Nationals this weekend

DODGE CITY, Kan.  – One of the highlights on the 2018 United Rebel Sprint Series takes place this coming Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16 as the Rebels head to Dodge City Raceway Park for the second annual Lubbock Wrecker Service 305 Sprint Car Nationals.” The tour will be joined by the track’s Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars for two nights of fast-paced sprint car action. Friday night’s feature payout will be at least $500 for the winner and $125 to start the finale. All non-qualifiers earn $100. Saturday night’s feature finale winner will earn a cool $3,000 and could earn up to $4,500 with lap money in play as well. Starting the twenty-four-car championship fea­ture finale will take home $600 while all non-qualifiers earn $150. Lubbock Wrecker Service DCRP Sprint Car Nationals shaping up quickly

By Lonnie Wheatley DODGE CITY, Kan. – Just six weeks away, the fourth annual Lubbock Wrecker Service DCRP Sprint Car Nationals are rapidly taking shape. Taking shape in a wide variety of special award sponsors and lap sponsors, the event is set for Aug. 20-22 atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval.  The three-day tilt pitting the Hambelton Racing DCRP versus the United Rebel Sprint Series with a number of other invaders from throughout gets under way with two full nights of heat races and features on Thursday and Friday that will set the stage for Saturday’s $3,000-to-win, $400-to-start 30-lap finale. The top six in combined points from Thursday and Friday’s preliminary lock into Saturday’s Mel Hambelton Racing Dash for Cash that will set the front three rows of Saturday’s championship event.
