Landrum Performance Springs adds Late Models to IMCA awards program

MENTONE, Ind. – Landrum Performance Springs adds a sixth division to its IMCA awards program this season. All IMCA Late Model track champions will receive a pair of springs from the Mentone, Ind., manufacturer. In its 14th year as a sponsor for the sanctioning body, Landrum has also renewed awards for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods. A product certificate to purchase one spring and get a second free goes to top three eligi­ble drivers in each of the five Modified regions, both Stock Car regions and both Hobby Stock regions, and to top three eligi­ble drivers in na­tional Northern SportMod and national Southern SportMod point standings. IMCA Modifieds make Sheyenne Speedway debut this Sunday

LISBON, N.D. — For the first time, IMCA Modifieds are coming to Sheyenne Speedway in Lisbon, N.D. Fans will get their first glimpse of the Powdercoat Specialists IMCA Modifieds on the 1/4-mile dirt oval this Sunday, June 10.    Racing begins at 6 p.m.   Modifieds have appeared at Sheyenne in past years, but this will be the first time IMCA-sanctioned Modifieds will run at the track. Roth is awesome at Dawson County

By Kelly Ninas LEXINGTON, Neb. (June 3) – Anthony Roth led the lap that mattered most in winning Sunday’s IMCA Modified feature at Dawson County Raceway. Roth started in the fourth row and got shuffled off the backstretch during the early laps of the feature. Finishing strong would be an understatement as Roth rocketed back to pass Jay Steffens for the lead and eventual victory. Mike Nichols started 10th and rode the high side to another IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win while Jacob Olmstead dominated from the start of the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main. Caleb Hetrick raced from third to first on the final circuit in winning the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature.

Dubuque checkers fly for Callahan

By Jerry Mackey DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 3) – Joel Callahan topped the strong field of IMCA Modified drivers in in scoring the 20-lap feature win Sunday at Dubuque Speedway. Callahan took the lead near midway and held off Tyler Madigan at the checkers.  Troy Bauer followed up a feature win at Farley Speedway on Friday night with another victory in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods. Bauer took the win over always tough Tyler Soppe.  Sunday, June 10 will be Fan Appreciation night at Dubuque with everything half price, including admission and all concessions. In addition, a pre-race car show will be held beginning at 4:30 p.m. All kids will be given autograph books courtesy of the Richardson Motors Kids Club. Drivers will have cars on display and will be signing autographs prior to the races.

Noll notches Central Arizona win

By Jeff McSpadden CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (June 2) – Jason Noll took top IMCA Modified honors on Ernie Mincy Trib­ute Night at Central Arizona Speedway. The 12th starting Noll made his charge on the low side and was up to the runner-up spot by just the fourth lap.  He completed his pass of A.J. Huebner for the lead and opened a sizable ad­vantage on the field by the half way mark. Behind Noll, Tyler Mecl drove around the high side to reach second and was followed by Chaz Baca into the third spot. Noll cruised to a 2.741 second victory over Mecl, with Baca, Trevor Miller and Huebner rounding out the top five.

Woken wins IMCA Stock Car feature at Lincoln County

By Kelly Ninas NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (June 2) – Saying that the competition was fierce would be an understate­ment when watching action at Lincoln County Raceway Saturday night. There were four lead changes in an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature that saw Casey Woken drive from 10th starting to the top of the podium. Andrew Baumgardner also drove from the fifth row to score top Mach-1 Sport Compact honors. Taking advantage of a tacky track, Colton Osborn was the victor in the IMCA Modified feature. Osborn started in the second row and took the lead on the seventh lap as he never looked back on his way to the checkers. Jamey Kennicutt led every lap to earn the win in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod main and a see-saw battle in the waning laps of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature went the way of Luke Wassom.

Mashl tops Luxemburg lidlifter 

LUXEMBURG, Wis. (June 1) – It took just shy of a full month from the originally scheduled opener, but Luxemburg Speedway was finally able to defeat Mother Nature and get its first official championship point show in the books Friday night. For Mike Mashl, it was worth the wait. Mashl parlayed a front row starting into a wire to wire victory, besting a loaded field of 32 cars to in the tough IMCA Modified division. Mashl took control early, but before he could get any separation, a four car wreck in corner one on the third lap brought the feature to a standstill. Back under green, Mashl was able to build a cushion over the pack as several teams vied for se­cond. By lap seven, three emerged as the prime candidates for the spot, Johnny Whitman, Benji LaCrosse and Russ Reinwald.
