Champions fill starting grids for all four Saturday RoC events at Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Every driver in the four race of champions events at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s on Saturday, Sept. 7 is a champion before they even take the green flag. The 31st annual Harris Auto Racing Race of Champions features a dozen drivers battling for $1,000 to win while the 18th annual Sunoco Face Fuels Race of Champions for Stock Cars pays $500 to win. The 11th annual Stephenville Starter Race of Champions for Hobby Stocks and BSB Manufacturing Race of Champions for Northern SportMods both pay $300 to win. Deery Brothers Automotive Group in 28th season as IMCA Late Model tour sponsor

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa – The longest running Late Model tour in the Midwest nears another milestone, with the approach of the 500th event in Deery Brothers Summer Series history. IMCA heroes celebrated at Sept. 2-7 Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – Dirt track racing heroes will be celebrated at an event that already has a Super Heroes theme. Boone Speedway hosts the 37th annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s on Sept. 2-7. More than 600 drivers from across the United States, and from Canada and Australia as well, have already pre-entered. “Super Nationals is a bucket list event for most drivers,” IMCA President Brett Root said. “Qualifying for a 30- or 33-car feature field when there are 200-plus entries is an accomplishment most racers should hang their hat on.” Early Modified entry numbers have already topped 200 while Stock Car entries are nearing the division record 193 that competed at the 2015 Super Nationals. Gillette’s East-West Clash features IMCA Modifieds, Hobby Stocks

GILLETTE, Wyo. – IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run all three nights during Gillette Thunder Speedway’s 20th annual East-West Clash. All three Modified features are 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events, with $1,000 at stake Friday, Aug. 30 and Saturday, Aug. 31. The Sunday, Sept. 1 feature pays $1,500 to win. Hobby Stocks run for $250 to win Friday and Saturday and $350 to win on Sunday. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and E3 Spark Plugs State points will be awarded all three nights. Entry fee each night is $75 for Modifieds and $35 for Hobby Stocks. Bailey impresses at Southern Oregon

By Don Martin II WHITE CITY, Ore. (Aug. 17) – Jesse Bailey scored an impressive win in the 25-lap IMCA Modified feature Saturday at Southern Oregon Speedway. Bailey made an impressive outside groove effort that gained him the lead late in the race. Not even in the top five with 10 laps left, Bailey began working the higher line before a lap 20 yellow flag bunched the field. On the restart, Bailey was making his a bid to move into second as another yellow flag flew. Andy Freeman led Bailey and Jeremy Richey on the ensuing restart. Bailey made a high pass in turn four of the 24th lap to finally get the lead and eventual victory. Jorddon Braaten won the 20-lap Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature from the 10th starting spot. Becker is best in Arlington IMCA Hobby Stocks

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 17) – Brad Becker has tried weekly to unseat Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stock foe Cory Probst in victory lane and finally got the job done Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Becker started seventh and took the lead from Scott Koep on the fourth lap in the flag-to-flag race. Koep maintained second throughout the race with Luke Trebelhorn third and Probst following in fourth. Justin Dose was first across the line in the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact feature to win ahead of Alex Dostal and pick up his first trophy of the year. Jeremy Schultz led the entire Alpha Media IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature flag to flag to win his first race of the year. Gillmore gets first IMCA Modified win at Springfield

By Ronnie Williams SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Hometown driver Ryan Gillmore charged early from his sixth starting spot and drove with ease to his first-ever Bad Boys Mowers IMCA Modified win Saturday before the capacity crowd at The Quick Quarter Springfield Raceway. Gillmore, driving the Andrew Smith car that won on opening night, had made several changes to the car during the week after a seventh place finish last week. The youngster wasted no time in working through traffic early in the 20-lap feature and then kicked it in gear to capture the win in a strong run. “Last week was the first time since early in the season that we ran the car and we finished second that night.
