VINTON, Iowa – Modified, Late Model and RaceSaver Sprint Car decal packets are now being mailed to IMCA drivers who have purchased competitor’s licenses for 2019. Packets for Stock Car, Hobby Stock, both SportMod and Sport Compact divisions will go in the mail as soon as they are completed; licenses and claim cards (in applicable divisions) will be included in decal packets.
Two more IMCA divisions will be featured this season on Friday race programs at Black Hills Speedway. IMCA Modifieds and IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars join IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks on the half-mile dirt oval at Rapid City. A car show and test ‘n tune session is on the tentative schedule for April 27 with the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing opener on May 3. The 2019 season will be the fourth for sanctioned Hobby Stocks at Black Hills. “We have had a non-sanctioned sprint car class the last few seasons. ALBION, Neb. (Feb. 6) – IMCA Late Models return to weekly programs at Boone County Raceway this season. The Friday night venue at Albion becomes the latest Nebraska venue to add the premier division in 2019. “Sanctioning Late Models was one of the best things we could do. The new sanctions will benefit all four tracks,” said promoter Mike Trollope, citing the addition of the class at Columbus, McCool Junction and Norfolk as well. “We really like the rules. Going with IMCA makes it easier for us to tech and more fair for the racer.” Boone County had run sanctioned Late Models during the 1995 and 1996 seasons. STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Four IMCA divisions are on the card for both nights of 281 Speedway’s season-opening Big Chill Throwdown. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts will be featured in Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8 and 9 shows.
