Roberts dominates Bill Davis Memorial at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, IA (May 5) – The Bill Davis Memorial and a pair of make-up features highlighted Wednesday night action at Stuart Speedway. Nick Roberts and Scott Bash started on the front row of the IMCA Modified feature. Roberts led early with Josh Gilman powering into second on lap three.  Gilman worked high and low but it was not to be as Roberts took the dominating win.  Gilman tangled with a lapped car on the final lap giving second place to Bash. Third was Kyle Brown with Shane DeVolder fourth and David Brown fifth. Dallon and Damon Murty led the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars to the green flag with Dallon taking the lead on lap one. Dallon would work the bottom side of the track with Damon up top.  A few cautions bunched the field and Dallon would hold off the challengers to take the win. Damon finished second with Todd VanEaton third, Jeremy Gettler fourth and Johnathon Logue fifth. Cam Reimers and Cole Fenske brought the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods out with [Read More]

Time is right to add Stock Cars to IMCA Manufacturer’s Cup contest

VINTON, Iowa – Call it a case of perfect timing as growth in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division results in an expanded Manufacturer’s Cup contest this season. While 17 chassis builders vie for national and regional honors in the 13th annual Manufacturer’s Cup contest for Modifieds, a dozen builders are in the running for similar accolades in the inaugural Cup competition for Stock Cars. Standings will be based on makes of chassis driven by top 10 drivers in each of the five Modified regions and both Stock Car regions. Builders with the highest overall point total will be named IMCA Modified and Stock Car national Manufacturers of the Year.  “There has always been an interest in a Manufacturer’s Cup program for Stock Cars and this season the timing was right,” explained IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “The number of Stock Car drivers and sanctioned tracks continues to grow and that has helped get more builders to become part of, or return to the Cup program.” Builders entered in both Modified and Stock Car Cup contests [Read More]

Richards quick to find 2021 IMCA Stock Car success

By Greg Soukup LINCOLN, Neb. – Cade Richards, the 2019 IMCA national Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod rookie of the year, spent most of 2020 competing in his SportMod and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car. To say that he’s starting off the 2021 season well in the Stock Car would be an understatement. He kicked off the year with a pair of third-place finishes, then brought it home in the top spot twice. On Friday, April 23 Richards made the trip to Salina Speedway. Starting his heat from the inside of the third row, he took the checkers. Then, in the main event he started fourth row inside and in a few laps got the lead and checked out for the clean sweep. “At first I was just trying to move up in there. I think it was lap six when I got up to fourth,” he said. “Eventually I got up to second and I and the leader had a real battle going on. I finally got around him and just took off from there for [Read More]

Madrid, Clower triumph at Arizona Speedway

By Stephanie Deatherage  SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (May 1) – Arizona Speedway was back in action on Saturday, with Zachary Madrid and Andy Clower earning IMCA feature wins. Brody Center had the initial jump in the 20-lap IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event but before the completion of the first lap he would be overtaken by Madrid. Madrid took full control and checked out from the rest of the field. The only thing to slow down his dominance was three stoppages. Larry Brigner recovered from an early flat to end the night in second.  Brody Center was third while Dennis Losing posted a fourth-place result. The top five was completed by Raymond Doyle.   In Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod action, the 20-lap main event began with Robert Holmes setting the tone early. Holmes lost the coveted top place position on the second circuit to Clower.
