Hubbard smokes foes for Virginia Sprint Series win

(Sept. 25) – Billy Hubbard raced to the front like a cat with its tail on fire, then paced his right rear tire which he had smoking hard to the finish for his third Virginia Sprint Series feature win of the year Saturday at Shenandoah Speedway. Matt Mullins and Chris Ware were on the front row as the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car event went green with Mullins out first and Ware moving to the bottom. Jerald Harris was making a quick trip up high to the front right away and by lap two he was on Mullins and going by for the lead. Bowser tops NY-Penn finale, Brad Sites is series king

SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. (Sept. 25) – A visitor from Michigan stole the show and captured the King of the Can title as a cool, fall-like night in Northeastern Pennsylvania set the scene for a fantastic finale in the Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series. Brody Bowser led every lap in winning the main event and $1,500 while Brad Sites put the final touches on the inaugural series crown despite late mechanical issues that resulted in a DNF Saturday at Penn Can Speedway. Eddie Sites, Ray McClure, Tyler Stoddard and Bobby Maynard completed the top five. After a few tries to get the first handful of laps in, the field got strung out and got some laps under its collective belt and put on some good racing from second on back as Bowser put a good gap between the pack and himself. DeVilbiss spins but wins Race For Hope 71 and $50,000

BATESVILLE, Ark. (Sept. 25) – There were storylines aplenty as Batesville Motor Speedway’s 50th anniversary season proved golden for Zane DeVilbiss. The New Mexico driver went into the Race For Hope 71 main event for IMCA Modifieds with a fast car, a front row starting spot and plenty of confidence. He ended the Saturday night special with the first of what he hopes becomes two $50,000 feature wins at the famed Arkansas speedplant. ARDMORE, Okla. – Three IMCA divisions see their final action of the season at Southern Oklahoma Speedway’s Oct. 1 and 2 Jordan Page Winter Nationals. IMCA Modifieds run for $2,500 to win and a minimum of $300 to start their feature, with the winner becoming eligible to qualify for the 2022 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. DeVilbiss delivers in Thursday qualifying feature at Race For Hope 71

BATESVILLE, Ark. (Sept. 23) – Zane DeVilbiss drove from the outside of row three to the checkers in winning the night two qualifying feature for IMCA Modifieds at Batesville Motor Speedway’s Race For Hope 71. Nunnenkamp Memorial this weekend at Junction Motor Speedway

McCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. – Junction Motor Speedway hosts the Barb Nunnenkamp Memorial McCool 100, with six IMCA divisions on the weekend card. IMCA Sunoco Late Models run for $1,000 to win, IMCA Modifieds for $775 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $675 to win, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods for $525 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win Friday, Sept. 24 and Saturday, Sept. 25 at McCool Junction. Dotson tops Race For Hope 71 opening night qualifier

BATESVILLE, Ark. (Sept. 22) – Night one of Batesville Motor Speedway’s Race For Hope 71 belonged to Ethan Dotson. The IMCA Modified clipper from Bakersfield, Calif., started seventh and finished first on Wednesday, opening night of qualifying for Saturday’s $50,000 to win main event. “We were pretty good and hopefully we can keep that speed for 75 laps on Saturday. Starting on the pole will definitely help,” Dotson said. “The track had some character (tonight) and it was fun moving around.
