Park Jefferson has high hopes for Saturday shows with IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars

JEFFERSON, S.D. – Track owner Adam Adamson believes the new IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car sanction at Park Jefferson Speedway will do more than fill a Saturday night void. The winged division becomes the sixth sanctioned class running at Park Jefferson this season, joining the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts. “This is a good opportunity for us. Kruse renews promotional contract at Marshalltown Speedway for 10 years

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – The Central Iowa Fair Board and race promoter Toby Kruse have signed an agreement to continue their relationship for another 10 years. Kruse has been promoter of the Marshalltown Speedway since 2006. Central Iowa Fair President Tyler Wollam indicated that the new agreement will be beneficial for everyone. “Toby has long been one of the most sought-after race promoters in the entire country. Four IMCA divisions featured at Cocopah’s Cactus Clash this weekend

YUMA, Ariz. – IMCA Modifieds are in the running for $1,000 to win both nights of Cocopah Speedway’s Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3 and 4 Cactus Clash. Both main events are Fast Shafts All-Star ballot qualifiers. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks vie for $600, $500 and $400, respectively, to win each night of the draw/redraw special. Start money is $100 for Modifieds, $50 for the SportMods and Stocks, and $40 for the Hobbies. Tow is $30 in each division. Sunoco continues in IMCA divisional title roles for silver anniversary sponsorship season

Wolla completes Canyon Winter Challenge sweep

(Jan 29) – North Dakota driver Jason Wolla, known by fans as “The Big Show,” put on an impressive show as he swept the weekend Winter Challenge IMCA Modified features at Canyon Speedway Park. Wolla’s second win of the weekend on Sunday came with 33 IMCA Modifieds checked in. He drew the outside front row and once the green flag dropped he never looked back for the $1,000 victory. The battle for second and third heated up for most of the race between local drivers Brian Schultz, Jason Noll and Garrett Funk. As Wolla approached lapped traffic, a late caution closed the almost straightaway lead he had built and Schultz took advantage. Wolla slipped up in turns one and two on the final lap where Schultz peeked to the inside, but in the end the move proved futile as Wolla sped away into the last turn, eventually taking the checkered flag and sweeping the weekend. Wolla takes Winter Challenge opener at Canyon

North Dakota’s Jason Wolla put in a dominating effort as he took home the checkered flag in the IMCA Modified portion of the event. “The Big Show” Wolla was quick to take the lead from his sixth starting position, but staying there proved to be no easy task. Constant challenges from John Parmeley made Wolla earn every penny of his $1,000 payday, including a crossover move to re-take the lead after Parmeley briefly got by him. JAMESTOWN, N.D. – More money for the winners and bigger starting fields are in plans announced for the 28th annual Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Tour for IMCA Modifieds Each main event during the July 8-13 tour will pay $2,300 to win, $100 more than last year, and a minimum of $300 to start with 30 cars taking the green flag. “We have been tickled pink with our growth. Updates to IMCA procedures, general rules few for 2017

VINTON, Iowa – Minor updates to procedures and general rules for 2017 will help IMCA keep up with motorsports industry trends. Other than that, there’s not much different than 2016 guidelines. “Not a lot was changed for this season. Our 40-point system, the bonus point system and lineup procedures have all withstood the test of time,” explained IMCA President Brett Root. “We have tweaked our bonus point structure over the years but as an executive committee couldn’t find a good reason to make changes this season.” “Issues like automatic penalties are also unchanged,” he continued. “We will still do our best to make sure penalties fit the offense.” What’s new this year includes: Fourteen and 15-year-old drivers will be allowed to compete in the Late Model and RaceSaver Sprint Car divisions, providing they detail their racing experience, a list of the tracks they’ll race at and submit required paperwork.
