New awards from Afco benefit IMCA Modified national champion, top rookie

BOONVILLE, Ind. – New awards for both the Modified national champion and rookie of the year complement Afco’s 2017 contingency program with IMCA.

The national champion and top rookie, as well as the first hard luck driver to roll their Modified during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, all receive GM frame replacement kits from the Boonville, Ind., manufacturer.

Afco, in its 24th year as a marketing partner with the sanctioning body, also continues a broad program of awards for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Late Models, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods.

“Afco has been a part of IMCA racing for many years and we look forward to continuing this tradition. We’re thrilled to introduce our new GM replacement frame kit in 2017 and we look forward to awarding a couple kits this year to deserving IMCA racers,” commented Afco Performance Group, LLC Marketing Director Kerri Hart. “In addition, we are pleased to continue to present IMCA racers with contingency awards to reward their success. We are looking forward to another great season of racing.”

Top three eligible drivers in each of the five Modified regions receive product certificates worth $250, $150 and $50, respectively, while the top three in both Stock Car regions receive $200, $100 and $50 certificates.

Top three eligible drivers in both Northern and Southern regions for Hobby Stocks and top three drivers in national SportMod standings get product certificates valued at $125, $75 and $50, respectively.

Drivers in those divisions must compete with Afco-manufactured shocks and springs, display two Afco decals on their race car and return a completed sign-up sheet to the IMCA home office by Aug. 1 to be eligible.

The national Late Model rookie of the year and fourth, sixth and 11th place finishers in national Late Model point standings all earn $100 product certificates.

The hard luck certificate will be mailed after Super Nationals; all other Afco awards will be presented during the national banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office.

“IMCA worked hand-in-hand with Afco through the development of the new GM replacement frame and Afco’s investment in this new project will pay dividends for IMCA racers in more ways than one,” emphasized IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “We’re thrilled to be able to offer a couple kits to deserving drivers in 2017.”
