Sidebiter Chassis has new building, title sponsorship role of IMCA’s North Central Region

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – A chassis builder nestled in the heart of the region is the new title sponsor for IMCA’s North Central Region for Modifieds. Sidebiter Chassis, owned by long-time driver Ryan Ruter, steps up to the new sponsorship role and provides part of the $6,000 point fund to be paid to top 10 drivers in the region that includes tracks in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, Saskatchewan, South Dakota and Wisconsin. “This is something we’ve been interested in doing for a number of years. Montezuma County looks forward to solid car counts with return to IMCA

CORTEZ, Colo. – Kevin Faddis saw bigger grandstand numbers when he focused on promoting events at Montezuma County Fairgrounds Speedway last season. With the return of IMCA sanctioning, he’s confident of much better car count numbers in 2017. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA SportMods return to the 3/8-mile oval at Cortez this season with half a dozen Friday-Saturday doubleheaders on the initial schedule. All three divisions have a lengthy history at Montezuma County. IMCA Modifieds chase $1,250 checks at Batesville’s Arkansas Spring Nationals

BATESVILLE, Ark. – A pair of $1,250 to win features for IMCA Modifieds are on the card for the Friday and Saturday, March 17 and 18 Arkansas Spring Nationals at Batesville Motor Speedway. Both Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot-qualifying events pay $1,000 to the runner-up. Minimum start money is $150 and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Jet Racing Central Region, Allstar Performance State and track points will be awarded. Pre-entry fee is $50 each night or $75 at the gate. The grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m., hot laps are at 7 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. each night. Beatrice Spring Nationals moved forward one day

BEATRICE, Neb. (March 7) – Racing at the 24th annual IMCA Spring Nationals at Beatrice Speedway has been moved to Thursday and Friday, March 9 and 10. The open practice now runs from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, with the $500 to win Race of Champions for previous Modified winners at Spring Nationals set for 9:15 p.m. Hot laps will start at 5 p.m. with the first heat race at 6 p.m. both Thursday and Friday. Volatile weather forecasts are the reason for the change in schedule, promoter Toby Kruse said. The event will be broadcast live on Speed Shift TV. IMCA Modifieds begin hunt for Canyon Speedway Park title

Jason Wolla swept both Winter Challenge events while Spencer Wilson and Hunter Marriott split victories during the Arizona Modified Tour. Marriott took another win in the preliminary night of the Desert Classic until finally a local in Chaz Baca Jr. brought home a win for the Arizona boys as he took home $3,000 in the 40-lap Desert Classic feature. PERRIS, Calif. – Perris Auto Speedway will continue its opening nights this Saturday, March 11, when IMCA Modifieds take to the track for the first time in 2017. Tomlinson tops HOT’s Jack Bagby Memorial IMCA Modified main

WACO, Texas (March 3) – Prior to Friday night, Eric Tomlinson had never won an opening night feature. He ended that streak and earned $1,000 along with the IMCA Modified checkers in this year’s Heart O’ Texas Speedway lidlifter, adding his name to the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot with the Jack Bagby Memorial victory. “We’ve got one win in one race and we’re on the All-Star ballot. Sprint Series of Oklahoma opener set for March 25 at Ardmore

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The half-mile Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway hosts a pair of $750 to win events for IMCA Modifieds next Thursday and Friday, March 9 and 10.
