Sister Act: Marie, Kayla Curtis capture IMCA Nevada State crowns

WINNEMUCCA, Nev. – Marie Curtis liked the handling and the power that came with an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car. Kayla Curtis liked the idea of getting on the track in a Mach-1 Sport Compact when she went to the races. When 2021 IMCA point standings became official, the Winnemucca, Nev., siblings made history as the first sisters to win KMJ Performance State championships. WACO, Texas (Oct. 23) – Another big race at Heart O’ Texas Speedway brought out the best in William Gould. The 24th annual Fall Classic saw Robert Scrivner and Lance Hanson impress, too. ARDMORE, Okla. – Three IMCA divisions now see their final action of the season at Southern Oklahoma Speedway’s Jordan Page Winter Nationals on Oct. 29 and 30. IMCA Modifieds run for $2,500 to win and a minimum of $300 to start their feature, with the winner becoming eligible to qualify for the 2022 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods run for $1,500 to win and a minimum of $200 to start. Four IMCA divisions primed for 24th annual Duel In The Desert

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Four IMCA divisions are on the week-long card as The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway hosts the 24th annual Duel In The Desert Nov. 8-13. IMCA Modifieds race for $10,000 to win their Saturday night main event on the half-mile oval and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both for $5,000. IMCA STARS Mod Lites make their Duel debut in a $1,500 to win event. The Modified winner becomes eligible to qualify for the 2022 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational; the Stock Car winner earns a starting spot on the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational grid. IMCA honors record number of champions at national banquet

LINCOLN, Neb. – IMCA returns to Lincoln to honor a record number of champions and rookies of the year at the national banquet on Saturday, Nov. 27. Drivers winning nearly 700 national, regional, track, special series and state championships, as well as national and regional rookie of the year honors during the 2021 race season will be recognized during the banquet, to be held at the Marriott Cornhusker Hotel in downtown Lincoln. Storybook night at Beatrice sees Frye win Octoberfest IMCA SportMod, Stock features

BEATRICE, Neb. (Oct. 15-16) – After making his first trip to victory lane at Beatrice Speedway, Tyler Frye described the Saturday Octoberfest show as a pretty remarkable night. After his second main event win, it became a storybook night. Frye borrowed a ride from Cody Williams and won the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature, then wheeled his own IMCA Sunoco Stock Car to the checkers. He started fourth in the Northern SportMod main, worked the top side from the get-go and was in the lead for good when the second of 20 laps was scored. Jason Smith, Family Owner of Speedway Motors, Passes Away at Age 60
