Victory for VanderBeek, Ward wins Modified qualifier

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 8, 2023) – One driver raced his way into the Big Dance for the first time while another will make his career fifth run at an IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s Modified championship following Friday qualifying at Boone Speedway. Zack VanderBeek started on the pole and led the distance of a fast-paced 25-lapper than ended green, white, checkered. Jacob Hobscheidt, 22nd starting Riley Simmons and Dan Menk rounded out the top five. And Tim Ward, who has won just about everything except the Lottery this season, motored from fifth starting to the checkers in the nightcap. Rust is fastest in IMCA Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 8, 2023) – Every win at Boone Speedway is a good one to get, and Joel Rust got another one Friday night. Rust raced to a bookend trophy during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s program at Iowa’s Action Track, catching Jeremy Mills just after halfway and running way out front in the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Good, better nights for Ferrando, Murty in IMCA Modified qualifiers

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 7, 2023) – Grey Ferrando had a pretty good night. Dallon Murty’s was even better. Ferrando made the trip to Oregon for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s and won Thursday’s first Modified qualifying feature. Murty, from much closer Chelsea and winner of the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational earlier in the evening, prevailed in a nightcap that saw its share of excitement and more in the final laps. Ryan McDaniel, Lucas Lamberies and Jordan Grabouski finished behind Ferrando, Tripp Gaylord, Jerry Flippo and Chris Abelson behind Murty. BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 7, 2023) – A night after coming oh-so-close, Zane DeVilbiss got on the roof of his race car and celebrated his qualifying feature win at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. And 30 years after winning his first Super Nationals championship, Curt Lund celebrated a qualifying feature win of his own, only a little more quietly than the driver known as Zippy D had done minutes before. Murty led all 30 laps of the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational during Thursday’s IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s program at Boone Speedway. The convincing win was good for $1,000, another $750 in lap money and a new chassis courtesy of race title sponsor B & B. “Luckily, I could see the jumbotron,” said Murty, who glanced up at the big screen in the center of the infield to see Kelly Shryock on the move. “You know him, he’s one of the best to roll the tires.” “That was probably the longest race. Damon Murty, who counts the 2018 championship among 18 career appearances in the main event, and Jeffrey Larson, who fourth in the 2015 Big Dance, won qualifying features Wednesday night at Boone Speedway. BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 6, 2023) – A couple drivers with California connections saw their IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s dreamin’ become closer to reality. Dylan Thornton, late of Orcutt, and Cody Laney of Torrance both won features as Modified qualifying began Wednesday night. One of the two will sit on the pole for the start of Saturday’s Big Dance at Boone Speedway Thornton, the 2022 pole starter, won the first qualifier ahead of Austin Kuehl, 2011 and 2017 champion Richie Gustin, and Ricky Alvarado while Laney, the 2021 Super Nationals champ, took the checkers ahead of last year’s runner-up Kollin Hibdon, Zane DeVilbiss and 2010 champ Jimmy Gustin. BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 6, 2023) – Cody Hubbell and Cam Reimers both led from the first lap to the last lap in winning their respective IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s last-chance qualifiers Wednesday at Boone Speedway. Hubbell won the Hobby Stock 25-lapper ahead of Andrew Burk, Tanner Jones, 19th starting Luke Bedford, defending champion Zach Olmstead and Brandon Bombardo. Smith, Grape top Tuesday Super Nationals Hobby Stock qualifiers

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 5, 2023) – Mike Smith will make his bid for a second IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s championship from the front of the middle row in Saturday’s Hobby Stock main event. Tristan Grape, meanwhile, begins his run for a first title from the front of the outside row. Both won qualifying features Tuesday evening at Boone Speedway, 2021 champ Smith after starting 25th and Grape after leading the last 23 times around the track and dodging a lapped car in the late going. While Cody Williams led the way in the first qualifier, Smith made the top side work to perfection after his deep in the field start, getting all the way to third by lap 15 and taking over up front following a lap 16 restart. BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 5, 2023) – Alec Fett has raced his way into the Big Dance every IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s since 2018. This Saturday, he’ll start the Northern SportMod main event at Boone Speedway from the front of the outside row. The Burt speedster was the third and final leader in his Tuesday qualifying feature, working his way up from 13th starting and passing Josh Barnhart for the front spot with five circuits left in a 25-lapper. “I never thought I’d start on the front row.
