Kids’ Christmas in July this Sunday at The Bullring

VINTON, Iowa (July 5, 2023) – Although Santa doesn’t arrive for another few months, kids in attendance will have some mid-summer Christmas cheer this Sunday at Benton County Speedway. Kids’ Christmas in July is on tap July 9 and will feature kids’ power wheel races, plus a number of prize giveaways for the youth in attendance. The IMCA Weekly Racing season continues Sunday night in all divisions, as well. Black Hills, Gillette host IMCA Hobby Stocks for $1,000 to win

RAPID CITY, S.D. (June 19, 2023) – Taking the checkers at IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks specials this weekend at Black Hills Speedway and at Gillette Thunder Speedway will be good for a grand. Features Friday, June 23 at Black Hills, in Rapid City, S.D., and Saturday, June 24 at Wyoming’s Gillette Thunder both pay $1,000 to win and a minimum of $100 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Big Daddy Race Cars Northern Region, state and track points are at stake each night as well. Entry fee each night is $75 and pit passes are $30. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and veterans, $6 for kids ages 12 years and under and over four feet tall, and free for all kids under four feet. Gates open at 5 p.m. Friday and at 6 p.m. Saturday with racing starting at 7 p.m. both nights.

IMCA Stock Cars highlight Super Sunday at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (June 6, 2023) – A $1,000 winner’s share will showcase a busy Super Sunday this weekend at Benton County Speedway. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company will do battle for a $1,000 top prize in their draw/redraw event Sunday, June 11 at The Bullring.  There is no entry fee for the Stock Cars, which will pay $100 to start the Super Sunday main event, and earn the winner qualifying eligibility for the B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational at this year’s Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Weekly racing, candy dash to highlight weekend action at The Bullring

VINTON, Iowa (May 31, 2023) – It’ll be a sweet Sunday this weekend at Benton County Speedway. Along with IMCA weekly racing, the annual candy dash will be held on the front stretch during intermission Sunday night, June 4. The dash, which set a Guinness World Record just two years ago, will offer well over 1,000 Lbs of candy again this year for the kids in attendance Sunday night. Opening night on tap May 21 at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (May 15, 2023) – After the season-opening special was washed out three consecutive weeks, officials at Benton County Speedway are hopeful the start of the IMCA weekly racing points season helps change Mother Nature’s tune this Sunday. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts are slated to start their season points battles Sunday, May 21, along with the INEX Legends and a special appearance by the American Iron Racing Series (A.I.R.S.). Maquoketa Speedway set to open Saturday

By Jerry Mackey  MAQUOKETA, Iowa (April 26, 2023) – The 2023 racing season is set to get underway at Maquoketa Speedway this Saturday, April 29 with the running of the Kinion Classic Cars season opener. Maquoketa Speedway welcomes the return of the Sunoco Late Model division as part of the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing program.  Late Models will headline the program this Saturday with hot laps taking to the action-packed quarter-mile dirt track at 6 p.m. Maquoketa Speedway is located on the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Maquoketa.

CJ Speedway takes green flag this Friday

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (April 11, 2023) – The forecast looks perfect for the first race of the 2023 racing season at CJ Speedway, located on the Louisa County Fairgrounds in Columbus Junction, Iowa. This Friday, April 14, the sweet sound of racing engines will be heard at the 4/10th mile dirt track. Racing action at CJ Speedway will again run under the sanctioning of the International Motor Contest Association which allows competitors to not only earn local but national, regional and state points and the recognition that can be earned.  Sanctioned racing divisions include Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts.   Hot laps are scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m. with racing to follow Friday night.

IMCA Modifieds chase $1,000 check at I-37 opener

PLEASANTON, Texas (March 22, 2023) – Saturday’s season opener at I-37 Speedway sees Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds racing for $1,000 to win along with qualifying eligibility for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational.  Pit gates and the grandstand both open at 4 p.m. for the March 25 lidlifter. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, GRT Race Cars South Central Region, Texas State and track points will be awarded.  Pit passes are $30. Spectator admission is $16 for adults, $11 for seniors, military and First Responders, and $6 for kids, with five and under free. Friday’s practice session at Pleasanton runs from 6-9:30 p.m. Pit passes are 420.

IMCA Late Models return to weekly shows at Crawford County

DENISON, Iowa (March 21, 2023) – Night two of the Spring Fling special marks the return of IMCA Sunoco Late Models to Crawford County Speedway. The Saturday, April 22 show is the first for the division at Denison in a decade. The first of seven Friday night shows is May 19, with the season championship program set for July 28. “Late Models can race here on Friday nights and Shelby County Speedway (in Harlan) on Saturday nights,” said promoter Rod Olson. “There are already a number of these cars in the area and we’ve reached out to drivers who raced at (now closed) I-80 Speedway in Nebraska last year.”  “We’ve also heard from drivers from around the Des Moines area who are interested in racing here,” he added. “I’ve always wanted to bring them back and sanctioning the Late Models here is a great way to give more guys the opportunity to race multiple nights a week.” Sunoco Bonus Night at Denison is May 19 and the county fair show is July 21. Bald Tire Bash, Sport Compact Super Sunday August 14 at Benton County

VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 10, 2022) – There’s something for everyone this Sunday at Benton County Speedway. Due to last week’s postponed event, the August 14 racing program at The Bullring is going to be chock full of excitement as the season enters its final weeks. The Bald Tire Bash, paying $2,000 to the winner of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature, will headline on-track action Sunday night. All competitors must use tires with a maximum tread depth of 5/32”. The Stock Car winner also earns B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility.  Sunday’s Stock Car feature pays $200 to start. There is no entry fee.
