Nitro Bee gives special events, Super Nationals awards

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Second-year sponsor Nitro Bee gives product awards to 10 special events winners and at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s again this season. Nitro Bee had been named the official one-way radio race receiver of IMCA last spring. IMCA Modified, Late Model, Northern SportMod national champions will be wrapped by Chase

AMES, Iowa – The chase for three national IMCA championships ends with free wraps courtesy of Chase Signs & Graphics. The Ames company gives free wraps again in 2014 to national IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified, IMCA Late Model and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod national champions. HJC Motorsports continues awards for IMCA national champions

CERRITOS, Calif. – Awards for national champions in all eight IMCA divisions were renewed this season by HJC Motorsports. The Cerritos, Calif., helmet and accessories manufacturer and retailer will give SA2010 AR-10 helmets to national champions in the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified, IMCA Late Model, IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Car, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMod and Mach-1 Sport Compact divisions. Knoxville Raceway hosts IMCA’s July 17 Harris Clash special

KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 14) – IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods return to Knoxville Raceway for the 23rd annual Harris Clash on Thursday, July 17. Top prize for the Modifieds is $2,000 while Northern SportMods run for $1,000 to win. The Clash is also the fifth event on the XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour schedule. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, home region, Allstar Performance State and special series points will be awarded for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. $2,500 is top prize at Billings’ July 19 Modified Mayhem

BILLINGS, Mont. (July 14) – Billings Motorsports Park hosts its rescheduled Modified Mayhem this Saturday, July 19, with a $2,500 top prize going to the winner of the headline event. The inaugural special for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds pays a minimum of $100 to start, is sponsored by Sorenson Racing of Billings and is a qualifying event for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western or Belleville Motorsports North Central regional, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded. Non-qualifiers taking at least one green flag during the evening get $50 tow money. There is no entry fee; pit passes are $25. Harris sprints to fourth Virginia Series feature win

By Jim Haines SHENANDOAH, Va. (July 12) – Jerald Harris turned a good run in to a great finish as storms danced all around Shenandoah Speedway Saturday night. Harris won his fourth Virginia Sprint Series feature of the season. Three of those IMCA Eagle Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Car victories have now come on the Shenandoah asphalt oval. Chris Ware and Charlie Ware paced the field to the green before Charlie Ware took off and brought Tony Harris along. Harris got by on lap four and did his best to run away from the rest of the field but Tom Humphries, Harris and French Grimes were on a march to the front. The battle for second between Humphries and Harris ended right after halfway when Humphries rolled into the infield. With five to go, Harris had a great run go bad as his right rear tire was wearing out and starting to vibrate. With just four to go he had to slow to make it to the end. Van Genderen gets first XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour win at Lee County

DONNELLSON, Iowa (July 14) – Mike Van Genderen was consistent in finishing second in 2013 point standings for the XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour. His IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified series-first victory will go a long way toward winning the 2014 tour championship. Van Genderen emerged as the new point leader Monday night following a back-and-forth battle at Lee County Speedway with Jesse Sobbing. The two swapped the front spot as the 30-lapper wound down and were virtually side-by-side coming to the white flag. Sobbing scraped the frontstretch wall before Van Genderen surged ahead to take the $1,000 checkers by a car length. Pole starter Hunter Marriott led the first nine laps before giving way to Sobbing. The only caution of the night waved on lap 18; Van Genderen was scored first across the stripe on lap 20 but Sobbing was back in front the next time around. DODGE CITY, Kan. – The IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified driver winning Dodge City Raceway Park’s Saturday, July 19 Stampede special earns $1,200 and one of the first berths on the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.
