Williamson gets second Wild West Shootout win of week

(June 21, 2022) – Jesse Williamson and Matt Sanders made their way to victory lane and Zack Simpson made his way into the history book when Cottage Grove Speedway hosted the third installment of the IMCA Wild West Shootout. Williamson raced to his second $1,000 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified victory on three Shootout starts, Sanders became the third different Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod Shootout winner while Simpson won the first IMCA Sunoco Stock car feature held at Cottage Grove. Eston Whisler set a torrid pace early in the Modified main, but the veteran Williamson reeled the leader in during a long green flag run and got the lead back on lap 28, then held off the young challenger for his career 17th Shootout victory. 200th win is latest IMCA Hobby Stock accomplishment for Probst at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 18, 2022) – After thinking back to the time when he could hardly win a single race, Cory Probst talked about what it took for him to win 200 of them. Probst earned the 200th feature win of his IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock Car career on Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The checkers were his eighth in 15 starts this season and already his sixth of 2022 at the big Sibley County Fairgrounds speedplant. “It was pretty special. Night two of IMCA Wild West Shootout sees James, Roberts, Pearce hit Coos Bay paydirt

by Ben Deatherage COOS BAY, Ore. (June 20, 2022) – Round two of the 2022 IMCA Wild West Shootout fired off on Monday and Coos Bay Speedway was once again the track to host the action. The same three Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing divisions were in attendance from the previous evening. They included the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. Despite several cautions, the IMCA Modified main event was a barnburner. The 35-lap race started with Collen Winebarger beating out Grey Ferrando for the point. Winebarger was passed at the line on lap two but stayed near Ferrando and kept the pressure up. Grey would feel some heat from both Winebarger and Jesse Williamson. Williamson would get around the both of them on lap nine and become the new leader. A long green-flag run developed, which allowed Winebarger to track down Williamson and overtake him on the nineteenth circuit. Williamson, Berkeley, Peery open up IMCA Wild West Shootout with Coos Bay wins

by Ben Deatherage COOS BAY, Ore. (June 19, 2022) – The 2022 IMCA Wild West Shootout finally kicked off on Sunday after two nights of getting washed away. Coos Bay Speedway had the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods in the house. Sixty-nine entries were on hand among the three Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing program divisions representing the states of Oregon, Washington, California and Nevada, as well as the Canadian province of British Columbia. Otis teenager Eston Whisler started the thirty-five-lap IMCA Modified main event with the race lead. However, Corbett’s Collen Winebarger would overtake him the following lap. Winebarger, racing for car owner Jimmy Schram, would receive some pressure shortly after a lap five restart. Collen battled with Brad Martin with Martin obtaining the top spot on the eighth circuit. BOONE, Iowa (June 14, 2022) – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will run for $2,500 to win at the Fox Welding/Vermeer King of the Katwalks presented by VanEaton Pork on Saturday, June 25 at Boone Speedway. Total purse for the inaugural special is nearly $14,000 with the winner becoming eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. Anderson takes tall trophy, big check from Hancock County’s IMCA SportMod Nationals

BRITT, Iowa (June 13, 2022) – Logan Anderson has a tall trophy and a big check to show for his first-ever visit to Hancock County Speedway. Anderson took over the front spot following a lap nine restart, then ran away from the field in winning the 30-lap Landus Cooperative IMCA SportMod Nationals and $2,500 Monday night at Britt. The last 15 laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event stayed green. 33rd IMCA Dakota Classic Tour primed for July 9-14 run

MANDAN, N.D. (June 13, 2022) – The 33rd annual Corral Sales IMCA Dakota Classic Modified Tour powered by Industrial Electric has made a few changes to its format but the core mission of the Tour, to bring the best from IMCA to North Dakota each July, remains the same. Grant Oskvig will be the new tour flagman and IMCA.TV will be live streaming all six nights of the tour. All tracks have agreed to start at 7 p.m. for the first time and once again, IMCA rules will be used at all tracks in both the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car divisions. The series starts its six-night consecutive run on Saturday, July 9 at the quarter-mile, high-banked Jamestown Speedway. Sites dominates in NY-Penn Series show at The Hill

In February, his race shop burned down, leaving little for he and his brother, Brad, to start the season with. He kicked off the Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by Precision Hydraulic & Oil season at Skyline Raceway Motorsports Park with a victory, then followed that up with a DNF at Penn Can Speedway after a parts failure. But on Friday, June 10, Sites found himself back in the winner’s circle at The Hill Speedway. Super Nationals IMCA Southern SportMod style: Kennedale to host inaugural event Sept. 8-10

KENNEDALE, Texas (June 10, 2022) – Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods will have a super event of their own this September. Kennedale Speedway Park hosts the Southern SportMod Super Nationals Sept. 8-10. Divisional title sponsor Smiley’s Racing Products is also sponsor of the inaugural event, which pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. “We have a ton of these cars around here and they do a great job showing up every week to support their local tracks so we wanted to have a special event like this for them,” said KSP promoter James Lopez. “Everything we get sponsorship-wise is going to go back 100 percent to the drivers.” The runner-up earns $1,500 with $1,200 paid for third, $1,100 for fourth and $1,000 for fifth.
