Deery Series travels to Quad City Speedway for Sunday show 

EAST MOLINE, Ill. – The Deery Brothers Summer Series show at Quad City Speedway this Sunday is the first of three May events for touring IMCA Late Models. All three feature races – May 15 at East Moline, May 18 at Maquoketa Speedway and May 30 at Boone Speedway – pay $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. Sunday and the grandstand opens at 3:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 5 p.m. with racing to follow. Also running are Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, plus street stocks. Box seating is $18. United Rebel Sprint Series Rebels resumes season on Sunday 

WaKEENEY, Kan. – The 2016 United Rebel Sprint Series will make its third appearance at the lightning fast 3/8-mile WaKeeney Speedway Sunday night, May 15. Both previous races there produced some of the closest racing in the URSS history. In the first appearance, Quinter racers Zach Blurton and C.J. Johnson battled with Blurton holding off Johnson to take his first win of the season. In the second race, Liberal’s Steven Richardson held off a hard charging Luke Cranston of Ness City to take his first feature victory of 2016. After suffering its second rain out of the young season at RPM Speedway last month, the Rebels will be anxious to return to the clay once again. With the DCRP Sprint Series having a three week break in their program, look for several of the competitors to make the short pull Sunday night. Grandstands will open at 5 p.m. with racing starting at 6:30 p.m.

Day of Stars at Five Mile Point features IMCA Atomicwraps.com Empire State Series

KIRKWOOD, N.Y. – Five Mile Point Speedway’s Day of Stars features a 25-lap, $500 to win feature for touring Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds. The second appearance at Kirkwood this spring by the Atomicwraps.com Empire State Series was postponed by inclement weather from May 1 to this Sunday, May 15. Pit gates open at 1:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 2:30 p.m. Hot laps begin at 3:45 p.m. and racing begins at 5 p.m. Grandstand admission is $14 for adults, $12 for seniors ages 65 and over, $10 for students ages 13-17 and free for 12 and under. Longdale’s Rodeo Weekend IMCA Modified features pay $1,000 to win 

LONGDALE, Okla. – A pair of $1,000 to win features for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds are on the program during Longdale Speedway’s Walleye Rodeo Weekend. Both Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14 races are qualifying events for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA SportMods run for $750 to win and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $600 to win both nights. All applicable IMCA points will be awarded both nights. Second annual IMCA Summer Storm Dirt Series starts Saturday 

NORFOLK, Neb. – Drivers in four IMCA divisions compete at as many Nebraska venues over the course of the eight-date Summer Storm Dirt Series. The second annual series for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts opens Saturday, May 7 at Off Road Speedway in Norfolk. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, Allstar Performance State and local track points, but no champions’ bonus points will be awarded. No registration fees will be charged. QUINCY, Calif. – The first of eight $1,000 to win weekly feature events for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds this season at American Valley Speedway is Saturday, May 14. Other qualifying events for 2016 or 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballots at the Quincy, Calif., speedplant will be Saturday, June 18; Friday and Saturday, June 24 and 25; Saturdays July 16 and 30; Sunday, Aug. 14; and Saturday, Aug. 27. Seymour sets May 8, May 11 test and tune sessions

SEYMOUR, Wis. – Work continues to progress as the 2016 season quickly approaches at Seymour Raceway Park. The test and tune on Sunday, May 8 will take place from 5-8 p.m. Another has been added and will be held Wednesday, May 11, also from 5-8 p.m. Both sessions will be open to drivers in any division wishing to take laps on the new track surface to get ready for the season opener. Schrader Night up next at Salina Speedway 

By Dusty Wiegert SALINA, Kan. — Last August, a new face entered a night’s racing action at the Salina Speedway, but it was a very familiar one as NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader visited the 3/8 mile oval. Schrader competed in the Long McArthur IMCA Modified division and finished a respectable sixth place after starting 13th in an exciting feature event that saw Corey Burch outlasting Corey Lagroon for the win. LAKE ODESSA, Mich. – I-96 Speedway opens this Friday, May 6 with the $1,196 to win Ice Breaker special for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds.
