Deery Series begins drive to 500th event with Davenport, Maquoketa, Dubuque dates

DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 4) – A rich weekend kicks off the Deery Brothers Summer Series’ history-making 33rd season.  Opening night takes the IMCA Late Model tour to Davenport Speedway for the $5,000 to win Rebel 5K next Friday, April 12. Completing the tripleheader slate are $2,500 to win events Saturday, April 13 at Maquoketa Speedway and Sunday, April 14 at Dubuque Speedway. “You’d be hard-pressed to find another series in America that can boast about their 500th event in series history. Big month of April on tap at Dodge City Raceway Park

By Lonnie Wheatley  DODGE CITY, Kan. – The 2019 racing season at Dodge City Raceway Park gets underway in fashion with three big events atop 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas over the course of April. First doubleheader of season this weekend for PASS

PORT ROYAL, Pa. – The first two-race weekend of the season for the IMCA RaceSaver Pennsylva­nia Sprint Series should bring out the largest sprint car fields seen so far in 2019 in Cen­tral Pennsylvania. A 40-car field or even better is expected Saturday, April 6 when PASS is at Port Royal Speedway for that venue’s first night race of the season. Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing is set to start at 6 p.m. at the historic Juniata County Fairgrounds track.  Zach Newlin, last year’s point champion, is among those planning to be on hand, as are several other former Port Royal winners and a good selection of 2019’s large rookie field.  On Sunday, BAPS Motor Speedway in York County, now 65 years since its opening, will feature an all-open wheel racing night. Stuart Frostbuster now canceled, Marshalltown, Boone dates still on

STUART, Iowa – Both the Wednesday, April 3 practice night and Thursday, April 4 IMCA Frostbuster at Stuart Speedway have now been canceled.  Rain in the forecast, a lack of drying time and a frozen water line share the blame.  Marshalltown Speedway hosts the Friday, April 5 show and Boone Speedway hosts the Saturday, April 6 finale.  Ken Schrader joins IMCA Modified fields at Frostbusters Friday, April 5 at Marshalltown Speedway and Saturday, April 6 at Boone Speedway. IMCA Modifieds on Saturday card at Southern Raceway

MILTON, Fla. – Southern Raceway throws the green flag Saturday for the first race of the season in IMCA’s Dirt Works Eastern Region.  IMCA Modifieds race for $500 to win the March 30 main event at Milton. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, E3 Spark Plugs Florida State and track points, as well as regional points will be awarded. Pit gates and the grandstand open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and military, $9 for students ages 13 to 17, $5 for kids ages six to 12 and free for five and under. U.S. 36 Raceway schedules practice for Wednesday, March 27

OSBORN, Mo. – U.S. 36 Raceway is adding a practice to the schedule Wednesday, March 27 from 6-10 p.m. After cancelling practice on Saturday, track officials want to allow drivers the opportunity to make some laps around the 3/8th mile oval before opening night.  Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. and pit passes are $25. Practice is open to all classes of cars for the four-hour session. RPM hosts IMCA Hughes Sunflower Classic this weekend

HAYS, Kan. – The first green flag of the new season flies when RPM Speedway opens with its Mike ‘Huey’ Hughes Sunflower Classic on Friday and Satur­day, March 29 and 30. FORT DODGE, Iowa – Eleven dates in three states are on the schedule for the 10th annual Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour for IMCA Modifieds. The tour makes its first-ever appearance at Sports Park Raceway in Fort Dodge for opening night on Tuesday, May 21. IMCA Modifieds to headline Arkansas Spring Nationals

BATESVILLE, Ark. – IMCA Modifieds run for $2,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berths on both nights of Batesville Motor Speedway’s Friday and Saturday, March 22 and 23 Arkansas Spring Nationals. Both features pay $1,500 to the runner-up. Mini­mum start money is $250.
