Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour opener moves to Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – With hopes that the third time will be a charm, opening night for the Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour moves to Marshalltown Speedway.

Traveling IMCA Modifieds race for $2,000 to win their Tuesday, June 4 main event. 

A Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth is at stake, as are IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region, E3 Spark Plugs State and special series points.

Also on the midweek program are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, chasing $500 top checks, and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks in a $300 to win feature.

National, regional and state points will be awarded in those divisions.

Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. with racing to follow. 

Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and free for kids ages 10 and under. Pit passes are $30.

Rained out events so far this spring have been at Sports Park Raceway in Fort Dodge and the traditional Memorial Day show at Benton County Speedway in Vinton. 

Title sponsor Arnold Motor Supply provides a portion of the $10,000 tour point fund and also awards a Traeger Lil’ Tex Elite Pellet Grill to the champion. Wehrs Machine and Racing Products returns as presenting sponsor.

DeFrance takes Late Model title, Mueller sees 100th victory at Marshalltown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Aug. 7) – Feature wins were especially notable Friday at Marshalltown Speedway. IMCA Sunoco Late Models wrapped up their regular season and hometown hero Darrel De­France claimed the track title as well as winning the feature. He led from the drop of the green to the checkers in a 20-lap race that went non-stop.    Jeff Mueller had to dig around the bottom of the track in the 18-lap IMCA Sunoco Stock Car fea­ture to get the win, but he got the job done. Mueller started 12th, caught and passed rim-riding Dallon Murty at lap 12 and held the lead to the finish to earn his career 100th win in the division.  Tom Berry Jr. continued his domination in the IMCA Modified division, winning for the seventh time at the High Banks, and Johnathon Logue made it two in a row in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.  Solomon Bennett snagged his first-ever win at Marshalltown in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.

Gustin wins, Hibdon impresses in Britt Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights feature

BRITT, Iowa (July 23) – Richie Gustin equaled an Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knights Tour record with his third straight victory Tuesday at Hancock County Speedway. Kollin Hibdon, meanwhile, turned heads with his runner-up finish in the IMCA Modified headliner at Britt. Gustin passed travel partner and race-long leader Hibdon on the 26th circuit, then led the last five laps to take the $1,500 checkers ahead of the youngster from Nevada, Jeremy Mills, Kyle Brown and Travis Hatcher.  Hibdon had started from the pole, Gustin from inside row two. The front pair were five seconds ahead of their nearest pursuit by lap 10. Gustin used the middle line to take the lead in traffic and pulled away for his tour career-leading 11th win. Sept. 3 Showdown brings six IMCA divisions to Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Six IMCA divisions take to the fabled high banks for Marshalltown Speedway’s Friday, Sept. 3 Showdown at Motown. IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win along with Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both run for $500 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both for $300 to win and IMCA STARS Mod Lites for $250 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern and Big Daddy Race Cars Northern regional points, plus KMJ Performance Iowa State points will be awarded.  Pit gates open at 5:15 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m., hot laps are at 6:50 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Pit passes are $30 and there is no entry fee.
