IMCA Dakota Classic Tour point funds total $10,000

MANDAN, N.D. – Point funds totaling $10,000 will be paid to IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers in top 10 point standings for the upcoming Corral Sales IMCA Dakota Classic Tour. Courtesy of Hoosier Tire and IMCA, point fund amounts increase from $2,000 to $6,500 for the Modifieds and from $1,000 to $3,500 for the Stock Cars. The Modified champion earns $1,600, with $1,150 for second, $850 for third, $700 for fourth, $550 for fifth, $450 for sixth and $300 for seventh through 10th places. The Stock Car champion gets a $850 share of the point fund, with $625 for second, $475 for third, $400 for fourth, $325 for fifth, $225 for sixth and $150 for seventh through 10th. All Modified features pay $2,000 to win and are qualifying events for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Stuart’s Whole Hog IMCA Stock Car winner takes home $5,000

STUART, Iowa – The winner of Stuart Speedway’s Whole Hog 50 special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars brings home the bacon May 30-31. The inaugural special pays $5,000 and possibly a whole hog to win and a minimum of $400 to start. Heat races and qualifying features for Stock Cars are on Sunday, with all drivers making an ‘A’ main. Stock Cars will run heat races and last-chance qualifiers to fill the field on Memorial Day.  Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying features for the IMCA Modifieds pay $1,000 to win on Sunday and $1,500 to win on Monday. IMCA Modifieds chase $5,000 Bakersfield Nationals top check

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – IMCA Modifieds race for $5,000 on Sunday, night two of the Nationals at Bakersfield Speedway.  One of the top-paying events of the season in California sees Modifieds run for $1,200 to win, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods for $1,000 to win and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $500 to win on opening night Saturday, May 29. Along with the big Modified payday on Sunday, SportMods race for $1,000 to win and Stock Cars for $750 to win on May 30. Rudy Yeager Memorial starts season at Sweetwater Speedway

ROCK SPRINGS, Wy. – Sweetwater Speedway’s Rudy Yeager Memorial brings three IMCA divisions to opening night at Rock Springs Friday and Saturday, May 28 and 29. IMCA Modifieds run for $1,000 to win their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying features while IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod features pay $500 to win both nights. Kenny Wallace will drive a Mike Petersilie-owned Modified. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Shaw Race Cars Western and EQ Cylinder Heads Northern regional, KMJ Performance state and track points will be awarded. Both race night programs will be broadcast by IMCA.TV. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. both days with hot laps at approximately 6:45 p.m. and racing to follow.  Spectator admission is $15 for adults and $10 for kids. Three Memorial Weekend Cornbelt Clash dates for IMCA STARS Mod Lites

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Memorial Weekend Cornbelt Clash dates take IMCA STARS Mod Lites to Marshalltown Speedway, Boone Speedway and Stuart Speedway for $500 to win features each night. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start each May 28, 29 and 30 feature with a $30 entry fee each night.  Marshalltown opens the gates at 5:15 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gates at Boone open at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday racing starts at 6 p.m. and on Sunday, gates at Stuart open at 5 p.m. and racing follows 7 p.m. hot laps.  The Yoshimura bonus will be paid on Sunday, with $250 going to the winner, $150 to the runner-up and $100 to the third place driver. The driver racing all three nights and finishing with the top point total also takes home $100 in cash. Other awards will be given by Hoosier Tire and Rod End Supply. PASS heads back to Selinsgrove

By Frank Buhrman  SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Foiled by rain on their last scheduled visit, Pennsylvania Sprint Series competitors return to Selinsgrove Speedway Saturday night to run their second 2021 feature at the big Snyder County oval. PASS IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars will run qualifying events and a 20-lap feature. The first IMCA RaceSaver event of 2021 at Selinsgrove was won by New Yorker Justin Mills on April 10. Mills is expected to return Saturday, along with Garrett Bard and Ken Duke Jr., the last two PASS and IMCA RaceSaver national champions. Duke also is the hometown favorite.  Gates will open at 5 p.m. for Saturday’s program, with racing scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Adult general admission is $15 and on Family Night, students 17 and under will be admitted free. Pit admission is $30.

United Rebel Sprint Series prepares for $1,000 to win events in Central Kansas

OBERLIN, Kan. – The weather has played a major factor in getting the season kicked off for the Drive to Zero POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series Presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing. Last weekend’s event was forced to cancel due to damp track conditions. The series looks forward to a doubleheader weekend on tap this Friday, May 21 and Saturday, May 22.   On Friday, drivers head to “The Bullring” of Rush County Speedway in LaCrosse, Kan., to compete for the $1,000 prize. Friday’s event will pay $200 to start the feature event. The “Bullring” is always a favorite stop on the schedule for drivers and fans alike as the racing is always intense on the ¼-mile speedway. Dodge City Raceway Park reschedules Stock Car-Hobby Stock Shootout

By Whitney Hodgin DODGE CITY, Kan. – Due to popular demand, Dodge City Raceway Park Director Craig The Crowd Pleaser Dollansky rescheduled the Sept. 4 ‘Stock Car-Hobby Stock Shootout’ to the ‘Sooner Late Model’ special July 30 during the annual Dodge City Days festivities. “This will make an even bigger event at the track for people coming to town for Dodge City Days and looking for entertainment on the first night,” Dollansky said. After multiple drivers expressed an interest in attending the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Iowa’s Action Track, Dodge City Raceway Park has accommodated this request by making a schedule change.  “Competitors can now attend the IMCA Super Nationals at the Boone Speedway in Boone, Iowa, if they want,” said Dollansky.  There will be no longer be any races at Dodge City on Sept. 4. NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series kicking off with Sean Lias Memorial

By Evan Canfield  SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. – After a long off-season and months of planning, the newly-formed NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series is ready to set sail on the 2021 season. With a full schedule set to see eight events at five different tracks, drivers are eager to begin the inaugural season of the series. With nearly 30 cars registered for the year, large car counts and great racing are on the horizon for a big year. Kicking off this year’s campaign will be one of the biggest races of the season, the Sean Lias Memorial at Susquehanna, Pa.’s Penn Can Speedway slated for May 30.
