Bridgeport NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series show postponed

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Round six of the inaugural NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series is this Sunday at Bloomsburg Fair Raceway.  Top prize for the traveling Modifieds is $1,000 with Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility at stake as well in the Aug. 22 show. IMCA Speedwaay Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Region and KMJ Performance State points, plus series points are at stake.  Gates open at 3 p.m. with practice at 5 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m. Pit passes are $35. The Mainesburg speedster got the best of his Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by M.R. Grafix foes in the inaugural KC Cole Memorial event, earning $1,024 and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility for his efforts. Veteran Shawn Bruce jumped out to the early lead, followed by Rich Michael Jr. and Eddie Sites, already a two-time series winner this season. Bruce held the lead for 17 laps until bringing out the caution in the second set of turns. Bruce’s misfortune gave the lead to Sites, with Morgan to his outside on the restart. BRIDGEPORT, N.J. – You know what they say, there’s a first time for everything. In the spirit of that, the 2022 season will start at the Bridgeport Speedway with a first for the state of New Jersey. For the first time since the IMCA-sanctioned Modified division was created in 1979, the open-wheeled beasts will slide around a track in The Garden State.  After a successful 2021 season, NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series officials have come to an agreement with the Bridgeport Speedway to open their season at the famed New Jersey oval on March 26, 2022.
