IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win Saturday at Heart O’ Texas

WACO, Texas – Heart O’ Texas Speedway starts the Memorial Weekend with a $1,000 to win feature for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds this Saturday night, May 24. The Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier pays $400 for second place, $300 for third, $200 for fourth, $150 for fifth, $100 for sixth, $70 for seventh, $60 for eighth and a minimum of $50 to start. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods both race for $500 to win and a minimum of $50 to start. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks chase a $300 top prize. Saturday showcase for IMCA Stock Cars at Independence Motor Speedway

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – The first of four Saturday Showcase events of the season is scheduled for this Saturday, May 24 at Independence Motor Speedway. The program, which will feature increased prize money for a select division one week every month, puts the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars in the spotlight this Saturday night. Drivers in that division will compete for a $500 winner’s share. The Stock Cars, along with the four other weekly divisions – IMCA Late Models, Performance Bodies IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks – are scheduled to compete for the fifth night of weekly racing this season. Stock Cars have averaged over 17 cars through the first four weeks of the year at Independence, the most since the end of the 2006 season. Trailer Race of Destruction, IMCA Stock Cars $750 to win Friday at Luxemburg

This Friday, May 23, Trailer Race participants will take to the track at the end of the show at Luxemburg Speedway to put on a party for the fans. Lee County kicks off holiday weekend with Thursday show

DONNELLSON, Iowa – Lee County Speedway gets a jump on the upcoming holiday with its Thursday, May 22 Memorial Day Weekend Kickoff. IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for $500 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $400, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $250 and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $150. BOONE, Iowa – The Deery Brothers Summer Series returns to Boone Speedway for its tradi­tional Memorial Day show next Monday, May 26. Touring IMCA Late Models race for $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start the holiday fea­ture. HANFORD, Calif. – IMCX Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds and West Coast Super Stocks race for $1,500 to win both nights of Kings Speedway’s Saturday and Sunday, May 24-25 Nationals. DAVENPORT, Iowa – Fifty laps will be the distance and $2,000 is the winner’s share of the purse for Davenport Speedway’s Friday, May 23 IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified Madness special. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m., the drivers’ meeting is at 6 p.m. and hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. Racing on the ¼-mile oval starts at 7 p.m. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Belleville Motorsports North Central Region and Allstar Performance State, but no local track points will be awarded for the draw/redraw show. Benton County XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour race postponed

VINTON, Iowa (May 13) – Blame all that rain on Monday and this morning’s unseasonably cool temperatures for postponement of tonight’s XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour event at Benton County Speedway. The fifth annual tour for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds was to have opened Tuesday at Vinton. That race will now be rescheduled on a date to be determined. First night for the series will now be on Memorial Day Monday, May 26 at I-35 Speedway in Mason City. The feature pays $1,000 to win, a minimum of $150 to start and is a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. with racing to follow. Benton County Speedway hosts May 13 XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour opener

VINTON, Iowa – Opening night brings the XSAN Hawkeye Dirt Tour back to the first track the IMCA Modified division called home. The Tuesday, May 13 IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature at Benton County Speedway pays $1,000 to win, a minimum of $150 to start, and is a qualifying event for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Previous tour winners at Vinton include Vern Jackson of Waterloo in 2011, Jeff Waterman of Quincy, Ill., in 2012 and Cayden Carter of Oskaloosa last May.
