2016 Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Tour dates finalized

JAMESTOWN, N.D. ­–­ With Jamestown Speedway officials recently making their announcement to sanction Modifieds weekly beginning in 2016, dates and locations for the 27th annual Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Tour have been finalized. Opening night for both Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car series will be in Jamestown on Saturday, July 9, at Jamestown Speedway. On Sunday, July 10, the tour heads north to Minot and Nodak Speedway. The series then goes international on Monday, July 11, at Estevan, Sask., Motor Speedway. Night four brings the tour back to North Dakota on Tuesday, July 12 at Williston Basin Speedway. From there, the series heads south to Dickinson and Southwest Speedway on Wednesday, July 13. The series then heads east to Mandan for its traditional Championship Night on Thursday, July 14 at Dacotah Speedway. Central Arizona Speedway hosts Nov. 21, 22 Desert Thunder Nationals 

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win on opening night and for $3,000 to win on night two of Central Arizona Speedway’s Desert Thunder Nationals this Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 21-22 Both features are 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualify­ing events. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start on Saturday. Sunday’s runner-up earns $1,500 with $1,000 paid for third. Minimum start money is $150. Non-qualifiers get $50 on Saturday and $60 on Sun­day. Stakes are high for IMCA’s Duel In The Desert 

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – What happens in Vegas this week will be the talk of the dirt track racing nation. Las Vegas Motor Speedway rolls out the red carpet for hundreds of IMCA drivers and thousands of fans traveling to the Entertainment Capital of the World for the 18th annual Duel In The Desert special Nov. 11-14. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds race for $7,777 to win and a minimum of $777 to start their main event on Saturday. Nov. 14 at the half-mile Dirt Track. Seymour Speedway banquet set for Nov. 14

SEYMOUR, Wis. ­– The 32nd annual NEW DIRT awards banquet will be held on Saturday night, Nov. 14, at Doxbee’s Banquet and Buffet in Seymour. Cocktail hour will be from 5-6 p.m. Serving of the chicken and beef tips dinner starts at 6 p.m. with the awards program to follow. Top 10 drivers in each division this season at Seymour Speedway receive trophies. Rookies will be announced in each division as well. Free beer and a raffle follow the awards. Tickets are $25 each through the club meeting tonight (Monday, Nov. 2) at Doxbees. Tickets will be $30 per person after the meeting and until Nov. 10. No tickets will be sold at the door. Canyon’s Desert Classic pays IMCA Modified winner $5,000

PEORIA, Ariz. – The Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified win will be worth $5,000 at Canyon Speedway Park’s Desert Classic special. Set for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6 and 7, the Desert Classic is a qualifying event for the 2016 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and pays a minimum of $300 to start. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods will race for $400 to win both nights. Entry fee for the Modifieds is $100. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. both days. Outlaw’s OctoberFest special boasts $5,000 IMCA Modified payday

MUSKOGEE, Okla. – Outlaw Motor Speedway’s Oct. 22-24 OctoberFest brings Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified drivers to Muskogee in pursuit of a $5,000 payday. The Saturday, Oct. 24 feature is 60 laps and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier, with a minimum of $400 paid to start and a $150 entry fee. An open practice is from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22. Qualifying starts on Friday, Oct. 23 with last-chance qualifying and the main event on Saturday. Grandstand admission is free for the practice night and $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and military, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and free for five and under both race nights. Cancer can’t keep DiMeo from returning to Dacotah Speedway for Drive to Survive night

MANDAN, N.D. – Every night at the track is special for a race car driver. Dacotah Speedway’s seventh annual cancer awareness and fundraising Drive to Survive Night was especially so for Mach-1 Sport Compact driver Nylee DiMeo. The Aug. 21 show at Mandan marked the first time this season the diminutive Dimeo has raced this season. Diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2014, she returned to the track and won her heat race just three and a half weeks after undergoing a double mastectomy. Fellow drivers Jason Berg and Stan Thompson built the car, painted white and decorated with pink handprints, she raced that night. “My car is still on a trailer. I cried because they had a car done for me,” she said. “I told them I just needed a doctor to clear me and I was going to be out there. POCOLA, Okla. – Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds are in the running for $2,000 to win at this weekend’s 36th annual Tri-State Speedway Spooker. A minimum of $300 will be paid to start the Saturday, Oct. 17 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. Distance for the main event will be 30 laps. There is a $125 entry fee.
