Dubuque fair date added to IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour schedule

DUBUQUE, Iowa – A 10th date has been added to the Hawkeye Dirt Tour, on Tuesday, July 26, opening night of the Dubuque County Fair. Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds will race for a minimum of $1,000 to win and a minimum of $150 to start when they make their first tour visit to Dubuque Speedway for the midweek show. In addition to special series points, IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, North Central Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded. The feature is a qualifying race for the 2017 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Fair admission is $10, which covers admission to the grandstand while kids 11 and under are free when accompanying a paid adult. Modifieds race March 3, 4 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The half-mile Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway hosts a pair of $750 to win events for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds on Thursday and Friday, March 3-4. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded both nights. Features pay a minimum of $75 to start with $50 paid to non-qualifiers. There is a $20 entry fee each night. RACEceivers and transponders are required. World of Outlaws Sprint Cars are on both programs. West Coast Late Models run on Thursday and 360 Sprint Cars on Friday. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Modified heat races start at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Thursday and around 9:25 p.m. on Friday.

New season at Kennedale opens with Spring Kick-Off

KENNEDALE, Texas ­– IMCA EMI RaceSaver Sprint Cars get top billing at Kennedale Speedway Park’s season-opening Spring Kick-Off Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 27-28. There’s a first-place check of $1,000 with a minimum of $150 paid to start in the winged division on opening night. Running both nights are Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds for $500 to win and $75 to start and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods for $500 to win and $60 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Modified and Stock Car regional, and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded. There is no entry fee. Pit passes are $30. $5,000 is top IMCA Modified check at Canyon’s Desert Classic special 

PEORIA, Ariz. ­– Canyon Speedway Park’s Desert Clas­sic moves to an early-point season date in 2016, with a top prize of $5,000 for Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modi­fieds on the line at the Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26-27 special. The Desert Classic feature pays a minimum of $300 to start and is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot quali­fying event. The entry fee of $100 will be payable at the gate. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded. Details finalized for $10,001 to win Legendary event

MANDAN, N.D. ­– Details have been finalized for the largest paying IMCA-sanctioned Modified event in North Dakota racing history, Dacotah Speedway’s inaugural Legendary 50. The Friday, July 15 Legendary follows the Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Modified Tour and will pay $10,001 to the winner of the 50-lap feature, a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event. A mandatory mid-race pit stop will allow race fans to see their favorite driver and crew up close and personal as they work on their cars right in front of Dacotah Speedway’s huge grandstand. Ken Schrader joins IMCA Modified fields for Frostbuster specials at Oskaloosa, Vinton, Marshalltown and Boone

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – Ken Schrader returns to Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified fields for all four nights of Frostbuster Week. Southern Iowa Speedway at Oskaloosa hosts opening night on Wednesday, March 30. Frostbust­ers follow on Thursday, March 31 at Benton County Speedway in Vinton, Friday, April 1 at Mar­shalltown Speedway and Saturday, April 2 at Boone Speedway. Top prize each night for the Modifieds is $1,000 with a berth on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invita­tional ballot at stake as well. Hawkeye Dirt Tour set for Memorial Day opener at Vin­ton 

VINTON, Iowa ­– Opening night for the seventh annual Hawkeye Dirt Tour brings Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds to their traditional home track on Memorial Day. The Monday, May 30 show marks the fifth occasion the tour has taken its first green flag of the season at Benton County Speedway. The Vinton oval was the site of the first-ever IMCA Modified event in 1979. In all, nine dates are on the 2016 tour schedule.
