Shrader Doubles Down in SportMod Thriller at Antioch

ANTIOCH, Calif. (July 19, 2025) – Kenny Shrader of Pacheco captured his third Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod main event win of the season at Antioch Speedway, keeping the points battle tight in the 20-lap contest. The two-time reigning track champion and current point leader fended off consistent pressure from nearest rival Jason Ryan Jr. to take the victory. It was the first race at the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds 3/8-mile oval since June 28^th.

Joseph Pato paced the early laps after scoring a heat race win. Rookie Alfred Johnson and veteran Al Johnson pursued him until a yellow flag reset the field on lap six. Shrader made a powerful move into second and overtook Pato with a clean inside pass in turn four on lap nine. After another caution on lap 12, Shrader took off on the restart and opened a straightaway lead over Ryan Jr. at the finish. Pato rounded out the podium in third.

Machado Powers to First Stock Car Win of the Season

Mitch Machado of Rohnert Park stormed to his first Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event win of 2025 in the EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region in a wild 20-lap showdown, earning his 27th career victory at Antioch Speedway.

Mitch Enos led the opening laps with Machado and Austin Van Hoff giving chase. Fred Ryland soon entered the mix and worked into second by lap 10. But the battle for the lead came to a head on lap 13 when contact between Enos and Ryland brought out the final caution, sending Ryland to the rear.

Machado inherited the top spot and held off a hard-charging Enos, who briefly regained the lead on lap 18 before Machado soared around the outside one lap later to retake the position and seal the win. Enos settled for second while Ryland rebounded to finish third.

Foulger is double winner at Antioch’s Fan Appreciation Night

By Candace Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (Aug. 3, 2024) – There was plenty of excitement in the air Saturday night at Antioch Speedway. This was the second annual Fan Appreciation Night, and fans got to see the show and all the other excitement during the evening for just $5. It was the biggest crowd for a regular race all season. Kids got an opportunity to win free bikes and other goodies throughout the evening. During intermission, drivers pulled into the infield for a meet and greet with the fans. This was the track’s way of saying thank you to the fans and it was also an invitation to new fans to see what the track is all about. Connelly wires IMCA Northern SportMod main at Antioch

(July 27, 2024) – Hometown driver Dylan Connelly won the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod feature in flag-to-flag fashion Saturday at Antioch Speedway. When the green flag waved, Connelly charged into the lead ahead of Tommy Clymens. Championship hopeful Jason Ryan Jr. quickly moved into third and set his sights on the consistent Clymens. Clymens was hitting all of his marks on the bottom groove as Connelly led the way. Ryan’s attempts to get by Clymens continued to be thwarted before a yellow flag waved on the 12th circuit. This might have been Ryan’s opportunity to get past Clymens, but Connelly continued to lead Clymens and Ryan on the restart. On the 18th circuit, Ryan went around the outside of Clymens in the fourth turn to grab second. Clymens spun in the same turn a lap later without a yellow flag. Connelly sped home to victory ahead of Ryan, Kenny Shrader, Kelly Campanile and Trevor Clymens.

Pearce, Ryan, Robles win at Antioch’s JD Willis Salute

By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (Oct. 4, 2024) – Andrew Pearce won the 25-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature Friday at Antioch Speedway’s second annual JD Willis Salute. This was the opening night at the Bill Bowers Memorial Weekend, and the win for Pearce paid $750. Cody Burke led the opening lap before Pearce went by. Troy Foulger settled into third on the second lap. Foulger was challenging Burke for second before making an inside pass on lap 11. Jonathan Hagio brought out the only yellow flag on lap 13. As Pearce led the restart lap, Foulger tried a slide move through turns three and four, only to drift high and get passed by Kellen Chadwick. Foulger had problems and headed for the infield on lap 16, handing third to Bobby Hogge IV. Pearce set of rapid pace over the remaining distance and brought it home, a happy winner ahead of Chadwick, Hogge, Burke and Andrew Peckham. $10,000 Payday Awaits SportMods at Captain of the Creek at 141

Mackenthun Masters Arlington Sibley County Stock Car Shootout for Huge Payday

(July 30, 2025) — Dan Mackenthun made the most of a big night at his home track, scoring the biggest win of his career during the Sibley County Fair Stock Car Shootout at Arlington Raceway. The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car special paid $5,000 to win, and Mackenthun racked up an additional $1,725 for leading 23 of the 30 laps, plus a $100 bonus for his heat race win. His dominant effort also locked him into the prestigious B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational at this year’s Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The triumph marked Mackenthun’s seventh of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region and his fourth at the Arlington ½-mile.
