By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (May 9, 2026) — Danny Wagner of Bay Point captured the 20-lap Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod main event Saturday night at Antioch Speedway, earning his first Antioch victory of the season and second overall win of the year. The reigning California State and Watsonville Speedway champion entered the night with momentum after winning at Watsonville Speedway the evening before. The victory also marked Wagner’s sixth different division in which he has won a main event at Antioch Speedway. Heat race winners Mark Garner of Antioch and Wagner led the field to green, with Wagner settling into second during the opening laps. Wagner made a backstretch pass on Garner on lap five to take command before a yellow flag slowed the pace one lap later following a three-car incident in turn four. Wagner maintained the lead on the restart while Trevor Clymens of Brentwood slipped past Garner for second. Antioch’s Alfred Johnson brought out another caution on lap eight after becoming involved in his second incident of the race. Wagner continued [Read More]

By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (Apr. 4, 2026) — Troy Foulger of Oakley opened the 2026 season at Antioch Speedway by winning both the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified and Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main events Saturday night. It was his first DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region victory in the Modifieds and his first EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region win of the current campaign in the Stock Cars. Having won the season opener earlier this year at Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern County Raceway, Oakley’s Andrew Pearce jumped into the early lead in the 20-lap IMCA Modified feature, followed by Matt Kampfraat of Granite Bay. Foulger slipped past Kampfraat for second on lap five, just as heat race winner Tyler Browne of Antioch spun in turn two. Browne kept going without a yellow, and Pearce soon caught slower traffic in the form of Kate Robertson of Reno, Nevada. Ryan Wins The Race, Shrader Champion In Dramatic Finish At Antioch

By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (Sept. 13, 2025) — Jason Ryan Jr. of Oakley won the 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod main event in dramatic fashion Saturday night at Antioch Speedway. It was Ryan’s fourth win of the season, with half of those victories coming at Antioch, and he gained this one with the late-race misfortune of Kenny Shrader of Pacheco. Shrader, the point leader going into the night, suffered front-end damage while lapping a slower car with two laps remaining. Though he limped home to ninth, that finish was still enough to secure him the track championship. The championship night format put Shrader and Ryan on the front row, and Shrader bolted into the immediate lead ahead of Ryan and Trevor Clymens. Shrader steadily pulled away from the pack while Ryan and Clymens battled for second. By halfway, Shrader was slicing through slower traffic with precision, but on lap 17, contact with a lapped car left his machine crippled. Ryan pounced low in turn four on lap 18 to take over the top spot. [Read More]

Rasmussen Rules Antioch for Third RaceSaver Win of 2025

By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (May 31, 2025) — Kyle Rasmussen of Clovis won the 25 lap California RaceSaver Sprint Series main event. The two-time State champion turned in a rather dominant performance in collecting his third win of the season.  Rasmussen led from the outset ahead of reigning California State champion Phil Heynen and current point leader Davey Pombo Jr. Following a lap five yellow flag for Rino Feliciano, Rasmussen resumed command. Pombo slipped past Heynen for second at that point, but Rasmussen started pulling away again. The race had one more slowdown, but that did not deter Rasmussen as he scored an impressive victory ahead of Davey Pombo Jr. and Heynen.
