Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational eligible drivers

VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 17, 2022) – Eighteen Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers are new to Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility, following recent feature wins in sanctioned events paying $1,000 or more. Travis Denning topped Davenport Speedway’s Ron Weedon Memorial while Modified Madness winners at Idaho Falls Raceway were Jason Donnelly and Sam Hoffman. Hunting With Heroes Salute to Veterans checkers flew for Johnathon Logue. Tyler Madigan took home the blue ribbon and top check from Dubuque’s County Fair show and Chad Melton was the Mike Night winner at Kennedale Speedway Park.  Clay Sellard paced Summer Nationals at Dodge City Raceway Park and Dave Shipley was best at Buffalo River’s Duel On The River.  Winner of the Coal County Classic at McLean County was Shawn Strand. By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (May 15) – Two drivers returned to victory lane after several years’ absence, one driver made his first-ever appearance on the winner’s stage at the track and two drivers took repeat wins Saturday at Boone Speedway. Chase Rudolf and Josh Gilman led the IMCA Modified field to green, with Gilman gaining the upper hand and taking command. Gilman was challenged several times by Andy Tiernan but it was to no avail as Gilman went on to take the checkers in the caution-free contest. This was Gilman’s first weekly win since 2011 at Boone. Tiernan had to be content with second place, Rudolf finished third, Clint Wendel was fourth, and Jimmy Gustin raced from 10th starting to take fifth. By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 16, 2022) – Boone Speedway held its Hawkeye Challenge race on Saturday night, an added attraction to the regular weekly series racing. Devin Smith in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car class captured that special win while Tony Cox won the main event for The Class Too Tough To Tame.  A race unique to Boone Speedway that pits different divisions of cars all racing at the same time against each other, the Hawkeye Challenge was $1,000 to win the overall exhibition race with five classes of cars…the Modifieds, Stock Cars, Northern SportMods, Hobby Stocks and Mod Lites. The classes were staggered by lap count. Each class winner was also awarded $500.
