Bauer earns emotional win at Farley

FARLEY, Iowa (June 1) – Racing action resumed Friday at Farley Speedway with the conclusion of the Bauer Memorial races that were cut short by a severe thunderstorm that hit the track on May 25.

The most emotional win of the night came in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature as Troy Bauer used a last-lap pass of leader Tyler Soppe to score the Bauer Memorial trophy given in honor of his father Harry, who passed away this last January.

Matt Gansen topped a strong field of IMCA Modifieds in taking the 20 lap feature win and Phil Holtz made a later race charge to win the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature ahead of Cole Mather.

Winners of scheduled features included Darin Duffy, making a rare appearance at Farley, in the Modifieds, Soppe in the Northern SportMods and Mather in the Stocks.

Farley Speedway pre-season car show set for March 31

By Jerry Mackey FARLEY, Iowa – The annual Farley Speedway pre-season race car show is set to be held inside the beautiful Palace Ballroom on Saturday, March 31. The spacious Palace Ballroom is located on the Farley Speedway grounds and has ample space to host a large number of race cars. The show will get underway at 11 a.m. and will feature free admission to all patrons. A DJ will be on hand for entertainment and will be playing your favorites from 1-5 p.m. The Palace Ballroom will also be featuring drink and food specials throughout the show. In addition, the Farley Speedway Kids Club will host a variety of events for youngsters including an Easter Egg Hunt and the Easter Bunny is also scheduled to make an appearance. $250 Sunoco bonuses for winners at Farley, Davenport and Marshalltown this week

VINTON, Iowa – The paydays get even better this week for a trio of IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature winners. It begins Wednesday evening at 300 Raceway in Farley as the IMCA Late Model winner pockets an extra $250 courtesy of Sunoco Race Fuels. Thursday night the bonus moves to Davenport Speedway, and the night begins with last Friday’s make-up feature. Then the pot gets richer as the next $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus of the season will be paid to the scheduled June 25 IMCA Late Model winner. The final bonus of the week will be presented Friday night at Marshalltown Speedway. Moyer scores IMCA Modified opener at Farley

By Jerry Mackey FARLEY, Iowa (April 27) – The 2018 racing season got underway Friday night at the “Palace of Speed”, Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa. A hearty crowd attended the opening night action on a very blustery chilly late April evening. Austin Moyer shot to the front early in the 20-lap IMCA Modified feature from his second row start. Moyer drove the Boyse race team 1M ride to a convincing win ahead of Zach Less and Joel Callahan. Austin Heacock drove his no. 22 Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod to the win in the 18-lap main event. Heacock held off the strong running Justin Becker in getting to the finish line first. Cory VanZante took third at the stripe. A solid field of IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars took the green flag in their 12 lap feature. Cole Mather advanced from the seventh starting position in scoring the win ahead of Scooter Dulin. Callahan Cruises to Second Dubuque Late Model Win, Takes Sunoco Bonus

By Ben Deatherage DUBUQUE, Iowa (Jun. 8, 2025) — Joel Callahan put on a clinic in the 25-lap, $1,000-to-win Sunoco IMCA Late Model main event at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. The three-time track champion used the high line to power into the lead on the opening circuit and built a commanding advantage on the historic 3/8-mile oval. Despite persistent pressure from Clay Simpson, Callahan looked unshakable. Simpson’s challenge cooled as Ron Klein took over second and began to close in. But Klein’s charge ended with a spin in turn four on lap 22, setting up a three-lap sprint to the finish. Callahan executed a flawless restart to earn his second Dubuque win of the season and the coveted Sunoco Race Fuels Bonus, which included a commemorative door panel, fuel jug, hat, and $300 prize. Moyer Breaks Through at Selinsgrove with PA Sprint Series

(Jun. 4, 2025) — Paul Moyer, a hard-working guy who largely funds his own team and brings his car to the track on an open trailer, scored his first career win Wednesday night in the 20-lap River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series feature at Selinsgrove Speedway. A second-place finish in his heat race enabled Moyer to draw for his feature starting position, and he drew the pole. From there, the Beaver Springs resident out-dragged Christian Rumsey for the early lead and wired the field in a non-stop race that took less than seven minutes to complete. His margin of victory was 1.385 seconds. Rumsey, from Middletown, New York, fought off a challenge from Josh Spicer and held onto second.

Stock Car Spotlight Shines on Worthington Speedway on June 14

(Jun. 12, 2025) — The stars of the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars will be out in full force this Saturday, June 14 at Worthington Speedway, with a $2,000 payday awaiting the winner of the special event. Stock Cars will run a draw/redraw format and compete for IMCA National, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, Minnesota State, and track points. There is no entry fee for drivers, though a $35 pit pass is required. A free Hoosier Racing Tire will also be given away to one lucky competitor. A lucrative purse structure will reward top finishers, with $1,000 for second, $600 for third, $400 for fourth, and $300 for fifth. Sixth through 10th will pay $250, $240, $230, $220, and $210 respectively, with all other A-main starters earning $200.
