$250 Sunoco bonuses for winners at Farley, Davenport and Marshalltown this week

VINTON, Iowa – The paydays get even better this week for a trio of IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature winners.  It begins Wednesday evening at 300 Raceway in Farley as the IMCA Late Model winner pockets an extra $250 courtesy of Sunoco Race Fuels. Thursday night the bonus moves to Davenport Speedway, and the night begins with last Friday’s make-up feature. Then the pot gets richer as the next $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus of the season will be paid to the scheduled June 25 IMCA Late Model winner. The final bonus of the week will be presented Friday night at Marshalltown Speedway. Double Late Model features are also on the card at Marshalltown, with the $250 Sunoco bonus presented to the night’s second feature winner – the evening’s originally scheduled feature. IMCA Modifieds, SportMods, Stock Cars run at Yankee

FARLEY, Iowa (Aug. 27) – Three IMCA divisions see on-track action at Farley Speedway’s 41st annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic presented by Casey’s General Store Aug. 30-Sept. 1. The IMCA Modified feature pays $3,000 to win and is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot quali­fier. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $1,200 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $1,000. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Iowa State points will be awarded. En­try fee and two-day tow is $100 for Modifieds, $50 for Northern SportMods and $40 for Stock Cars. Qualifying for the Stock Cars and an open practice session for the Modifieds and SportMods be­gins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Friday action also gets underway with at 6:30 pm and will feature the double heat race format in both Modified and SportMod divisions. Fast dashes will also be run. Bauer earns emotional win at Farley

By Jerry Mackey FARLEY, Iowa (June 1) – Racing action resumed Friday at Farley Speedway with the conclusion of the Bauer Memorial races that were cut short by a severe thunderstorm that hit the track on May 25.  The most emotional win of the night came in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature as Troy Bauer used a last-lap pass of leader Tyler Soppe to score the Bauer Memorial trophy given in honor of his father Harry, who passed away this last January.  Matt Gansen topped a strong field of IMCA Modifieds in taking the 20 lap feature win and Phil Holtz made a later race charge to win the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature ahead of Cole Mather. Winners of scheduled features included Darin Duffy, making a rare appearance at Farley, in the Modifieds, Soppe in the Northern SportMods and Mather in the Stocks.

Moyer scores IMCA Modified opener at Farley

By Jerry Mackey FARLEY, Iowa (April 27) – The 2018 racing season got underway Friday night at the “Palace of Speed”, Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa. A hearty crowd attended the opening night action on a very blustery chilly late April evening.  Austin Moyer shot to the front early in the 20-lap IMCA Modified feature from his second row start. Moyer drove the Boyse race team 1M ride to a convincing win ahead of Zach Less and Joel Callahan.  Austin Heacock drove his no. 22 Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod to the win in the 18-lap main event. Heacock held off the strong running Justin Becker in getting to the finish line first. Cory VanZante took third at the stripe.  A solid field of IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars took the green flag in their 12 lap feature. Farley, Dubuque set to go green this weekend

By Jerry Mackey FARLEY, Iowa – The racing season is set to see the first green flags of 2018 at the popular North­east Iowa tracks under the direction of Farley Speedway Promotions. Farley Speedway, located on the southwest corner of Farley, Iowa, is set to entertain a full pro­gram of weekly racing that includes IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevro­let Northern SportMods on Friday, April 27 with hot laps taking to the 3/8 mile dirt track at 7 p.m. On Sunday, April 29, the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway will open the 2018 campaign with sanctioned Modifieds and Northern SportMods on the card. Sunday’s start time has been moved up to 5 p.m. for the upcoming season. Farley Speedway pre-season car show set for March 31 

By Jerry Mackey FARLEY, Iowa – The annual Farley Speedway pre-season race car show is set to be held inside the beautiful Palace Ballroom on Saturday, March 31. The spacious Palace Ballroom is located on the Farley Speedway grounds and has ample space to host a large number of race cars. The show will get underway at 11 a.m. and will feature free admission to all patrons. A DJ will be on hand for entertainment and will be playing your favorites from 1-5 p.m. The Palace Ballroom will also be featuring drink and food specials throughout the show. In addition, the Farley Speedway Kids Club will host a variety of events for youngsters including an Easter Egg Hunt and the Easter Bunny is also scheduled to make an appearance.
