Opening night, Bill Davis Memorial events start season at Stuart

STUART, Iowa – Opening night kicks off a big week of IMCA racing at Stuart Speedway. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts start the 2020 campaign at Stuart on Wednesday, May 20. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, state and track points will be awarded for the lidlifter. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6:45 p.m. and racing to follow. Both IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run Sunday, May 24. The second annual Bill Davis Sr. event on Memorial Day boasts a $1,000 to win, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying feature for the IMCA Modifieds. Shute, Rust rule IMCA Modifieds at Stuart’s Fever Heat 100

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (Sept. 20-21) – Todd Shute and Joel Rust were IMCA Modified winners while Elijah Zevenbergen, Corey Madden and Mitchell Bunch each swept Fever Heat 100 feature events at Stuart Speedway. Shute used the top side of the track to lead all 25 laps and take the dominating win on Friday, putting his name on the 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot with the $1,000 victory. Jesse Dennis finished second and Ethan Braaksma third. Dennis and Braaksma ran up front before Rust raced ahead for the $1,500 checkers. Already on the All-Star ballot, he was chased across the stripe by Braaksma and Dennis third. Zevenbergen earned $1,000 on opening night and $1,500 on night two. Derry and Damon Murty put on quite a battle for second but it was all Zevenbergen out front in the Friday IMCA Sunoco Stock Car show. Rust tames stout Stuart IMCA Modified field

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (Aug. 25) –Sunday Night Spectacular winners at Stuart Speedway were Mitchell Bunch, Zach Hemmingsen, Brayton Carter, Buck Schafroth and Joel Rust, and these five will be part of a documentary next season for IMCA.TV. Tony Hilgenberg and Garett Wilson on the front row for the start of he IMCA Modified feature. Wilson led the first two laps until Rust powered to the lead. Cody Laney and Josh Gilman passed Wilson on lap five and the only caution of the race came one lap later to give the field a fighting chance at Rust, who’s been on a tear in central Iowa as of late. When the green flag flew it was nothing but Rust as he dominated the rest of the way to take the win. Laney finished second with Kelly Shryock third. Andrew Burg and Chad LeGere led the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars to the green flag next with LeGere and then Burg leading the first two laps. Baudler is best at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (July 10) – Daniel Baudler earned his Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod career first feature win Wednesday at Stuart Speedway. Baudler led Brandon Patava and David Schwartz on lap one. Patava took over the lead on lap three and led until Baudler retook the top spot on lap nine. Colton Nelson threw his hat in the ring on lap 10 but faded after that as Patava shot back into second a lap later. Baudler looked to be on his way to the win but had to wait as a lap 16 caution set up a two-lap dash to the finish. As Hunter Longnecker and Schwartz battled for second it was all Baudler as he would go on to his first career victory in the division. Schwartz came out on top in the battle for second with Longnecker third, Tyler Inman fourth and Nelson fifth. The Final Ride at Stuart ends with Marriott in victory lane

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (July 2) – Everything about the Ron Little Memorial was big. A track record 141 cars took to the track Tuesday for the 20th and final event at Stuart Speedway. Forty-seven of those entries were IMCA Modifieds and Hunter Marriott wrote his name in as the $2,000 feature winner of a 30-lapper that ran green to checkers. Dubbed The Final Ride by members of the late IMCA Modified driver’s family, the main event saw Marriott and Travis Hatcher show the way, with Marriott leading Josh Most and Hatcher early on. Cody Laney advanced to third on lap four and with three and even four wide racing back in the pack it was still Marriott out front at the halfway point. Lapped traffic started around this time, but Marriott was smooth and strong as he went on to lead the entire way to pick up the top check. Madden scores third Stuart win of season

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 26) – Corey Madden raced his way to victory lane at Stuart Speedway for the third time this season, topping Wednesday’s IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock main event. Nick Foster and Chuck Madden Jr. were on the front row for the start and Madden Jr. led rookie Miciah Hidlebaugh and Foster over the first two laps, with Corey Madden getting to third on lap three. Two more circuits saw Madden get to second as Madden Jr. continued to lead. By lap six, the brothers were side-by-side and Corey was able to get the advantage on lap eight. Stuart Speedway set for July 2 Ron Little Memorial

STUART, Iowa – The top prize for IMCA Modifieds will be $2,000 while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $1,000 to win at Stuart Speedway’s Tuesday, July 2 Ron Little Memorial. The fourth installment of the Arnold Motor Supply Midwest Madness Tour is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event for the Modifieds. The Modified main event pays a minimum of $150 to start, the Stock Car feature a minimum of $125. Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods race for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $300 to win at Stuart, with IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, regional and E3 Spark Plugs State points awarded in all divisions. Daniels takes IMCA Stock Car thriller at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 19) – Josh Daniels was the winner of an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car thriller Wednesday at Stuart Speedway. Jeremy Gettler led lap one with Chris Pruitt swinging past to take the top spot on lap two, just before the caution came out. When the cars roared back to life it was Pruitt leading Gettler and Todd VanEaton through lap five. VanEaton moved to second on lap six, but at the halfway point Daniels snuck into the runner-up position. Lap 16 saw another yellow and this made for an exciting finish. Pruitt led lap 17 but as he pushed up a bit coming out of turn four, Daniels pounced and moved to the inside. After some contact in turn one, Daniels got position out front with the top four under a blanket as they came down the backstretch on the last lap. Thornton is dynamic in Dirt Duel win at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 12) – Another big-money event ended with Ricky Thornton Jr. in victory lane, this time in an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car. The multi-division star raced from eighth starting to win the 50-lap headline event at Stuart Speedway’s Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel presented by Sniper Speed & Midstate Machine Wednesday night. The checkers were good for $3,000 and came ahead of Abe Huls and Johnny Spaw. Huls had taken the early lead over Elijah Zevenbergen and Spaw before the yellow flew on lap three. Huls led the next circuit with Zevenbergen taking over on lap five. Zevenbergen led one more lap until he went into a wild spin in turn two to bring out the second and what proved to be final yellow of the night. Once the green came out again it was Huls leading Thornton and Spaw. Thornton followed in Huls’ tire tracks until making his move on lap 18 and taking over the front spot. IMCA Stock Car winner earns $2,500 at Stuart Speedway’s Dirt Duel

STUART, Iowa – The winner of Stuart Speedway’s Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel will go home with a $2,500 check. Qualifying starts on Tuesday, June 11 with a minimum of $300 paid to start the Wednesday, June 12 main event. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region and E3 Spark Plugs Iowa State points will be awarded. Presented by Sniper Speed and Midstate Machine, the Dirt Duel will be broadcast by IMCA.TV. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods also qualify Tuesday for Wednesday features while Mach-1 Sport Compacts race on opening night and IMCA Modifieds on night two.
