Shute, Rust rule IMCA Modifieds at Stuart’s Fever Heat 100

STUART, Iowa (Sept. 20-21) – Todd Shute and Joel Rust were IMCA Modified winners while Elijah Zevenbergen, Corey Madden and Mitchell Bunch each swept Fever Heat 100 feature events at Stuart Speedway.

Shute used the top side of the track to lead all 25 laps and take the dominating win on Friday, putting his name on the 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot with the $1,000 victory.

Jesse Dennis finished second and Ethan Braaksma third.

Dennis and Braaksma ran up front before Rust raced ahead for the $1,500 checkers. Already on the All-Star ballot, he was chased across the stripe by Braaksma and Dennis third. 

Zevenbergen earned $1,000 on opening night and $1,500 on night two.

Derry and Damon Murty put on quite a battle for second but it was all Zevenbergen out front in the Friday IMCA Sunoco Stock Car show.

Zevenbergen worked the bottom side of the track Saturday and on lap 19 it would pay off as he took over the top spot and drove off to weekend sweep. Jay Schmidt finished second with Dallon Murty third.

Madden left town with a pair of $1,000 IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock checks. 

He worked his way into the lead Friday on the 10th circuit and won ahead of Brandon Cox and Chuck Madden Jr. 

After a late caution erased his Saturday pass for the front, he was fastest in a two-lap shootout and crossed the stripe in front of Cox and Jason Kohl.

Bunch made his move on lap four and went on to the $400 Friday win over Jake Benischek and Fiebelkorn.

Curtis Miller didn’t make it easy for Bunch to repeat as they were door-to-door at the white flag in Saturday’s Mach-1 Sport Compact finale.

Miller made a run but it was Bunch at the line by about two feet for the $600 prize. Miller settled for second with Fiebelkorn third.

Tyler Soppe led early on but Brayton Carter stormed into the lead on lap six and went on to the easy $1,000 win in the Friday Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod headliner. Soppe held on for second with Johnathon Logue third.

Cody Thompson grabbed the lead near midway and drove off to the $1,500 Saturday win. Tyler Inman finished second with Soppe third.

IMCA Frostbuster starts 60th season at Stuart Speedway

By Josh Reynolds  STUART, Iowa (March 30) – The engines came to life Tuesday evening with drivers from all around in attendance for the IMCA Frostbuster opener at Stuart Speedway. Feature winners for the night were Cay­den Carter, Dallon Murty, Brayton Carter and Brandon Cox. Tony Hilgenberg and Jake McBirnie led a stacked IMCA Modified field to the green flag with Clay Money getting the jump from his fourth starting spot to lead lap one. Derrick Stewart slid into second on lap three as Money continued to lead. A couple yellows in the middle of the race tightened the field and set up a great run to the finish. Stuart Speedway has new promoter, new race night

STUART, Iowa – One of IMCA’s longest tenured tracks has a new promoter and a new race night be­ginning this season.  Mike Van Genderen will be in charge of Wednesday night race programs at the Stuart Speedway. Work on reconfiguring the 1/4-mile clay oval has already started and will resume when weather and track conditions permit.  Midweek shows will feature IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts. “Stuart has a very strong IMCA tradition,” said Van Genderen, who completed his purchase of the track in November. “It’s a pretty darn nice facility with good lighting and a beautiful concession stand. It has everything you could want.” The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National point season runs from April 17 to Aug. 7. Stuart’s IMCA Stock Car Whole Hog 50 winner earns $5,000; Modifieds, Northern SportMods both race for $1,000 each night

STUART, Iowa (May 24, 2022) – The winner of Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway’s Whole Hog 50 special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars takes home the bacon May 29-30. Top prize is $5,000 while the minimum paid to start the second annual event has been increased this year from $400 to $500. The Whole Hog 50 winner also becomes an automatic qualifier for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational.  Heat races and qualifying features for Stock Cars are on Sunday, with all drivers making an ‘A’ main.
