IMCA King of the Highbanks postponed, Marshalltown to host Friday Season Preview

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (April 13, 2022) – Less than favorable weather forecasts have forced Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway track officials to postpone the $5,000 to win King of the Highbanks special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars.  Practice was originally scheduled tonight (Wednesday) with King of the Highbanks programs Thursday and Friday.  While the practice and Thursday show are off, the April 15 program has been rebranded as the Friday Season Preview.  Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars both run for $1,000 to win along with Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility, respectively. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods both run for $400 top checks, IMCA STARS Mod Lites and Mach-1 Sport Compacts both for $250 to win.  IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded. IMCA Stock Cars will chase $5,000 top prize at Marshalltown Speedway’s King of the Highbanks

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (April 8, 2022) – The fabled highbanks of Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway are the setting for the $5,000 to win King of the Highbanks special for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars next Thursday and Friday, April 14 and 15. Stock Cars will run two sets of heats on Thursday with the top 10 in points locked into Friday’s main event. The King of the Highbanks winner earns a guaranteed starting spot in the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational.  Stock Car entry fee for the weekend is $125.  IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility, with a $20 entry fee, both Friday and Saturday. Marshalltown World Nationals features four IMCA divisions Sept. 17-18

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Marshalltown Speedway puts the wraps on its 2021 season with the Sept. 17 and 18 World Nationals. IMCA Modifieds run for $2,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start both nights. Friday and Saturday shows also see IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods racing for $1,000 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern and Big Daddy Race Cars Northern regional, and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded.  Entry fee each night is $50 for the Modifieds, $30 for Stock Cars and SportMods and $20 for Hobby Stocks. $250 Sunoco bonus for Late Model winners in Iowa this weekend

VINTON, Iowa – Extra money is on the line for the winner of a pair of main events for IMCA Sunoco Late Models this weekend. The next two installments of the $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus will be paid to the July 30 Late Model winner at Marshalltown Speedway and the July 31 Late Model winner at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson. Sunoco bonuses will be presented at IMCA Late Model sanctioned tracks in 2021. Drivers are eligible for one bonus during the racing season. Winners so far this year have been Matt Ryan at 300 Raceway in Farley, followed by Sean Johnson at Independence Motor Speedway, Andy Eckrich at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Ron Klein at Dubuque Speedway, and most recently in Nebraska to Kyle Prauner at U.S. 30 Speedway in Columbus, Chase Osborne at Boone County Raceway in Albion, and to Brock Carlson at Off Road Speedway in Norfolk.  IMCA will announce mid-week before the dates bonuses are to be awarded at each track.

Lauritzen, Reitzler, Richards score first Marshalltown wins

By Joyce Eisele  MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 23) – It was Casey’s and Rumours Bar and Grill Salute to Marshalltown Law Enforcement Night at the Marshalltown Speedway Friday.  Ronn Lauritzen raced from sixth starting to second and was chomping at the bit for an early restart in the IMCA Modified feature. Lauritzen then put some distance between himself and the field and scored an easy win.  The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars put together another caution-free race.  Josh Foster took advantage of his pole starting spot, and shot to the immediate lead.  That lead would vanish on lap three, when Todd Reitzler took over the top spot. Reitzler went on to lead the rest of the laps to take his first victory of the year at the High Banks.  Foster never went away however, chased Reitzler the entire race, but had to settle for second. Berry is IMCA Modified winner, Murty takes big money at Marshalltown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 16) – Marshalltown Speedway held its regular weekly racing program on Friday night, along with the Central Iowa Fair.  Two drivers kept their winning streaks going as Kaden Reynolds rolled to another win in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock division, as did Dillon Raffurty in the IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Dallon Murty took home the $1,000 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car special, Jenae Gustin found her way to victory lane in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods, Tom Berry claimed the win in the IMCA Modifieds and the Mach-1 Sport Compacts joined the regular classes with Adam Gates taking that victory. Last year’s track champion and defending IMCA national champion Berry made his presence known once again at the High Banks, as he piloted his new ride to victory. Marshalltown wins race with Mother Nature

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 25) – Three new faces visited victory lane this season on a fast-paced KMJ Performance Free Grandstand Night and Iowa Seamless Gutter VIP Night Friday at Marshalltown Speedway. New winners were Paul Nagle in the IMCA Modifieds, Jay Schmidt in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Vern Jackson in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.  Jacob Murray and Nagle led the IMCA Modified field to green. Nagle immediately grabbed the lead as Murray settled into second. Ronn Lauritzen started eighth and took over second from Murray with just three laps remaining in the contest. In the closing circuits, Nagle pulled away and took the easy win, with Lauritzen trailing a good distance to take the runner-up spot. Murray held on to finish third. Dotson takes first win, Reynolds goes back-to-back at Marshalltown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 18) – It was a full night of racing at the Marshalltown Speedway on Friday where it was RBF Electric Night. In IMCA STARS Mod Lite feature racing, Dillon Raffurty of Kansas City, Mo., raced for the first time this year at the track, led lap one, and never gave it up the rest of the way to the checkers. He finished far ahead of second place Josh May and third place Kaden Cochrun who battled back and forth for position from lap five on. Garrett Stonum started well back in the starting field and finished fourth and Cory Sonner finished fifth.  This wasn’t Raffurty’s first trip to victory Lane at Marshalltown. He won back on Sept. 17, 2020 at the 500th Summer Series Show and Dale DeFrance Memorial. Gray, Kuehl get Marshalltown wins

By Joyce Eisele  MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 11) – Racing action continued at the Marshalltown Speedway on Friday night where it was Casey’s Salute to Marshalltown Firefighters, EMTs and First Responders/Chad Witte VIP Night. The IMCA STARS Mod Lites kicked off the feature racing with their 15-lap main event. Austin Gray led this one from start to finish to capture his first-ever win at the High Banks. Mike Kennedy chased Gray for the majority of the race but had to be content with a second place finish. Ben George was third, Kaden Cochrun took fourth and rounding out the top five was Rodney Brown. The Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature went to summer visitor Taylor Kuehl, who hails from Cave Creek, Ariz.
